The junior was a constant threat up top for the Spartans, using her pace and high-energy game to repeatedly challenge their backline. Valentine did a great job of stretching the field and her strong runs on the left side often required a central defender to step up and help contain her, opening up space in the middle for her teammates to explore. The forward missed a penalty kick in a critical moment of the match, but the error didn’t take anything from her confidence as she continued to work hard and play aggressively in the final third.

Valentine will be with Albion Hurricanes FC 08 in their matches against FC Alliance, WNY Flash and Slammers FC over the weekend. She started the season with their Regional League team but has been moved up and has proven to be a nice addition. A dynamic and aggressive winger, Valentine can play on both sides and is very dangerous when she gets on the ball in the final third with her ability to beat defenders off the dribble and with her pace. Also a solid finisher, she has an excellent work rate and consistently tracks down to help on defense.

Playing alongside Goodwin up top for Stratford, Valentine also played with great energy. She played on the left, the right and the center and never stopped running. Stratford insisted on sending long balls behind the backline for her and the winger never gave up, making things happen even when defended by multiple Memorial players on some occasions. Even when the passes were too long, she kept pushing and putting pressure on defenders, winning possession and earning thrown-ins on some occasions.

Albion’s right winger Valentine had a very active night, getting on the ball quite often and trying to make things happen. She caused a good impression with her dribbling ability, keeping the ball very close to her right foot and making it difficult for opponents to dispossess her. Valentine also dropped deeper to get on the ball on some occasions and, instead of attempting solo runs, made good combination plays with her teammates. She had some nice battles with Challenge’s left back
