<span style="font-size: 1rem;">Here’s a glance at the players to watch this fall:</span>
<strong>FORWARDS:</strong> Lewiston-Porter senior [player_tooltip player_id="13771" first="Robert" last="Woods"] in a goal-scoring machine. Even in last year’s abbreviated fall season, Woods netted 26 goals, helping the squad to the Section VI Class A-2 final. He was an All-Western New York first-team pick. ... Hamburg’s [player_tooltip player_id="13470" first="Brady" last="Reinagel"] was an All-Western New York Large School honoree, while Allegany-Limestone’s [player_tooltip player_id="13489" first="Chance" last="LaCroix"] earned the corresponding Small School honors.
<strong>MIDFIELDERS: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id="13666" first="Kevin" last="Sugg"] of Williamsville North led the team with eight goals and four assists one year ago. The All-Western New York first-team pick plays attacking mid and is the area’s top returning midfielder. ... [player_tooltip player_id="13467" first="Billy" last="Freeburg"] was an All-Western New York Large School honoree after helping the team to a 14-1-1 season and a second straight Class A-2 sectional title. [player_tooltip player_id="13558" first="Euan" last="Reynolds"] of East Aurora and [player_tooltip player_id="13717" first="McKay" last="Young"] won the comparable Small School honors.
<strong>DEFENDERS:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="13432" first="Alex" last="Kompson"] of Nichols School collected the highest 2020 state honors among the returning Buffalo area players. The senior was the Monsignor Martin League Defensive Player of the Year after helping Nichols to the league title and he received Small School all-state first-team honors. Kompson anchored a defense that allowed only seven goals in 13 matches. ... [player_tooltip player_id="13802" first="Thomas" last="Dimillo"] and [player_tooltip player_id="13797" first="Stephen" last="Haven III"], both juniors this year, were All-Western New York Large School selections last fall.
<strong>GOALKEEPER:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="13587" first="Jack" last="Root"] of Williamsville East is coming off a season where he posted 12 shutouts during a 14-win season with a 0.38 GAA. He was an All-Western New York first-team selection. Williamsville East shared the Class A-1 title with a scoreless draw against Grand Island in the final to finish 14-0-2.
