The number listed before a player’s name is the current rank in the PrepSoccer National Rankings for the 2024 class, which will be updated this week.
1. North Carolina
#1 Kennedy Fuller Kennedy Fuller 5'5" | F Southlake Carroll (TX) | 2024 #1 Nation TX (Solar), #6 Emeri Adames Emeri Adames F Waxahachie Life (TX) | 2024 State #6 Nation TX (Solar), #13 Ashley Pennie (Florida United), #16 Claire Hutton (World Class), #52 Linda Ullmark (WNY Flash), #67 Bella Gaetino (Michigan Hawks), #77 Caitlin Mara (FC Stars)
The Gatorade National Player of the Year reclassified from the 2025 class to join the 2024 group, and she is just one piece of a stacked class headed to Chapel Hill. The longevity of the North Carolina program is such a remarkable feat in the women’s game, and it continues to resonate with younger generations aspiring to play at the highest levels. When the Women’s World Cup final kicks off this weekend, UNC will have four alumni taking part in the game (all on the England side). Those types of accomplishments matter even if it does not involve the US team. North Carolina knows how to reach the next generation and knows how to sell the track record of developing players who can compete (and win) at an international level. Every single player in this group has big dreams in the game, and they’re trying to follow in the footsteps of those players.
2. Stanford
#2 Gisele Thompson Gisele Thompson D Harvard-Westlake (CA) | 2024 State #2 Nation CA (TFA), #18 Elizabeth Boamah Elizabeth Boamah null | D State #18 Nation CA (Albion SC), #17 Charlotte Kohler Charlotte Kohler M St. Francis-Mountain View (CA) | 2024 State #17 Nation CA (MVLA), #20 Ella Emri Ella Emri 5'9" | D Torrey Pines (CA) | 2024 #20 Nation CA (San Diego Surf), #32 Jaden Thomas Jaden Thomas F Hockaday (TX) | 2024 State #33 Nation TX (FC Dallas), #59 Samantha Smith (Boise Thorns), #91 Kaiya Jota Kaiya Jota GK Marshall (CA) | 2024 State #93 Nation CA (LA Breakers FC), #101 Sophie Murdock Sophie Murdock 5'7" | D St. Francis-Mountain View (CA) | 2024 #103 Nation CA (MVLA)
Stanford lost out on Alyssa Thompson from the 2023 class, as she skipped the college game and went straight to the professional level. There is not another Alyssa Thompson but her younger sister is a heck of a player and she leads a very strong group from 2024 graduates. Ella Emri Ella Emri 5'9" | D Torrey Pines (CA) | 2024 #20 Nation CA and Elizabeth Boamah Elizabeth Boamah null | D State #18 Nation CA are among the best defenders in this class and both feel like perfect fits for Stanford’s style of play.
3. UCLA
#8 Kara Croone (Concorde Fire), #14 Avery Robinson (Florida Elite), #20 Kamryn Winger (VDA), #27 Samantha Sanchez Samantha Sanchez F State #28 Nation CA (MVLA), #45 Paloma Daubert Paloma Daubert null | D Ponderosa (CA) | 2024 State #45 Nation CA (San Juan), #47 Nicki Fraser (Real Colorado), #108 Jordan Geis Jordan Geis F Archbishop Mitty (CA) | 2024 State #88 Nation CA (MVLA), #113 Isabella Winn (World Class FC)
Croone is one of the highest movers in our rankings since the last update and there is an obvious reason why. She has been dominant at the youth level. Impossible to stop in the open field, Croone offers game-breaking ability. Daubert might be the best outside back in this class, and looks underrated in our rankings. The Bruins are riding that high of the NCAA Championship in the recruiting game and getting the top player from every state they want.
4. Penn State
#4 Katie Scott (Internationals), #16 Addison Hess (TSJ FC Virginia), #22 Kealey Titmuss (Nationals), #68 Isabella Ayscue (NC Courage), #110 Lilly Burger (PA Classics), #107 Jolie Farmer (Florida Premier), #159 Kieryn Jeter (Tophat SC), #120 Audrey Kulpa (Oakwood), #161 Natalie Magnotta (Penn Fusion)
There is an argument to be made that Penn State has the top player, forward, and goalkeeper from the 2024 class among their verbal commits at this point. There might be some disagreement on that accord, but there is reason to believe the first three names on this list will all be names we hear for a long time in the game and that’s why Penn State is No. 4 in the rankings.
5. Notre Dame
#10 Grace Restovich (SLSG)*, #19 Abigail Gemma (IMG), #25 Eleanor Hodsden Eleanor Hodsden F Dripping Springs (TX) | 2024 #25 Nation TX (Lonestar), #148 Riley DeMartino (Bethesda), Lizzie Heller (Concorde Fire), Ally Pinto Ally Pinto M Flower Mound (TX) | 2024 State #160 Nation TX (DKSC), Sonoma Kascia (Florida Premier), Melinda Hathaway (Nationals), Randie Foor (Michigan Hawks)
Restovich recently reclassified as a 2024, which gives this class a huge boost. One of the top players of the summer and a two-time national champion, Restovich looks ready to face bigger challenges. Gemma and Hodsden are also top 25 national recruits. The stellar trio made Notre Dame an easy choice as one of the top recruiting classes for 2024. The depth of this group pushed them into the top five.
6. Florida State
#22 Peyton McGovern (VDA), #26 Taylor Suarez (Charlotte SA), #28 Wrianna Hudson (WNY Flash), Emma Kirlin (Carolina Elite SA)
This potential for this group to be special is obvious. McGovern, Suarez, Hudson, and Kirlin all have high ceilings. Hudson could end up as the best forward in the class. The 6-2 attacker is a rare prospect in the women’s game and Florida State should be the perfect place for her to hone her craft and really take her game to the next level.
7. Duke
#5 Lauren Martinho (NC Courage), #35 Solai Washington (Concorde Fire SC), #53 Caroline Dysart Caroline Dysart null | GK Canyon Crest Academy (CA) | 2024 #54 Nation CA (San Diego Surf),#162 Sophia Recupero (FC Stars)
Duke was probably a top two or three class before Riley Jackson decided to skip the college route and go directly to the professional game instead. The Blue Devils slip a bit in the rankings, but it’s hard to knock them too much when one of the players headed to Duke in 2024 played in the Women’s World Cup over the summer.
8. Texas
#3 Amalia Villarreal (Solar/Michigan Jaguars), #39 Cambry Patrick Cambry Patrick null | D Lovejoy (TX) | 2024 State #40 Nation TX (Solar), #61 Lola Foley Lola Foley M Frisco Memorial (TX) | 2024 State #62 Nation TX (Solar), #121 Chloe Shimkin (IMG), #136 Kendell Williams (Eclipse), #163 Vivian Geesbreght Vivian Geesbreght F Southwest Christian (TX) | 2024 State #197 Nation TX (Solar), Molly MacMillan Molly MacMillan M Santa Margarita (CA) | 2024 CA (Slammers Koge)
The headline here is Amalia Villarreal. Ben Munger has led the way with Texas recruiting efforts so full credit there on landing one of the top players in the country in this class. Villarreal is going to step into a big role with this team. Three other players from that Solar club are also in this class including the captain of that talented 06 team, Lola Foley Lola Foley M Frisco Memorial (TX) | 2024 State #62 Nation TX .
9. Tennessee
#24 Skylar Miller (Richmond United), #74 Bella Smith (KC Athletics), #125 Cayden Norris Cayden Norris GK Science Hill (TN) | 2024 #130 Nation TN (FC Alliance), #136 Reese Mattern (Richmond United), Sydney Miller (Richmond United), Nyla Blue Nyla Blue null | F Bearden (TN) | 2024 TN (FC Alliance), Kameran Bluette (SLSG-MO), Jasmine Boggs (VDA), Alivia Stott Alivia Stott null | F Bearden (TN) | 2024 TN (FC Alliance)
Jonathan Morgan has done a really nice job with this class. The Millers are terrific players with high ceilings. Bella Smith is a player who could develop into a star at this level. Cayden Norris Cayden Norris GK Science Hill (TN) | 2024 #130 Nation TN and Nyla Blue Nyla Blue null | F Bearden (TN) | 2024 TN are two of the top players in the state in this class. It’s no small feat to assemble this type of class in a short time frame.
10. USC
#31 Lily Biddulph Lily Biddulph F Mater Dei (CA) | 2024 State #31 Nation CA (Slammers FC HB Koge), #38 Ines Derrien Ines Derrien M Torrey Pines (CA) | 2024 State #38 Nation CA (San Diego Surf), #116 Jaiden Anderson Jaiden Anderson M Huntington Beach (CA) | 2024 #120 Nation CA (Slammers), Faith George Faith George 5'6" | F Santa Margarita (CA) | 2024 CA (Slammers FC HB Koge), Lana Gibbs (FC Stars), Eleanor Morrissey (OL Reign Academy), Peyton Nakagawara (Seattle United), Katherine Park Katherine Park F El Dorado (CA) | 2024 CA (Slammers FC HB Koge)
There was quite a debate about this spot. At the end of the day, USC keeping the local talent at home gave them the edge over a few programs in the teens who were considered. Lily Biddulph Lily Biddulph F Mater Dei (CA) | 2024 State #31 Nation CA and Ines Derrien Ines Derrien M Torrey Pines (CA) | 2024 State #38 Nation CA are immediate starters and players that will be fighting for spots on the All-Conference team early on their careers. Jaiden Anderson Jaiden Anderson M Huntington Beach (CA) | 2024 #120 Nation CA is exactly the type of player that most coaches love on their roster. She has the game to contribute right now and the potential to be a top level professional in the future as long as she continues to push herself with her player development.
