He would drop between the center backs to initiate the team's buildup every time the home team had the ball, and managed to add a lot to it with his accurate passing. Lopez was moved into a more offensive role in the second half and showed tremendous intelligence and quality to operate in the attacking half, too, helping set up some of the team's best plays despite having to deal with more pressure from opposing defenders. The midfielder also contributed off the ball, working hard on defense and helping his team make stops in the center of the field.

Ramos made a big impact on both sides of the ball from the right back spot. He was very solid defensively, efficiently handling most of Nashville's attempts on his side and dominating his zone. Ramos also had a constant presence in the attacking half and was very involved in Austin's offense. The outside back did a good job of staying wide and helping his team stretch Nashville's backline, but also demonstrated remarkable calm and intelligence with his passing, waiting for the right moments to release the ball and picking the best options to feed his teammates in the final third.

Vega played opposite to Ramos at left back and also stood out as one of Austin's best players on the field. He was busy defensively, engaging in an interesting duel with Nashville's winger [player_tooltip player_id='415114' first='London' last='Lemus'], and did well in denying him clear goalscoring opportunities with clean and well-timed defensive actions. Vega also appeared well offensively, combining efficiently with the wingers on his side and coming inside to finish chances - he fired two good shots from the edge of the box, which were saved by Nashville's goalkeeper. The left back's ability to provide great service off set pieces was also highly valuable in a match in which Austin didn't get to consistently find space to create chances in the final third.

Yi was Austin's most active and productive forward in the match. He played as a second forward and used his positional freedom to roam into good spots and explore the space he could find between the lines. Yi had a couple of good runs off the ball on the right side of Austin's attack and also had success when dropping to get on the ball and driving it to the center. He didn't have a great opportunity to score, but was consistently on the ball around the penalty box.

Mitev delivered a strong performance at left back and was among Nashville's most consistent players in the match.
