PHOENIX, Arizona – The first ECNL National Event of the club season wrapped up on Sunday from the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Arizona. PrepSoccer was on hand for the games and caught some of the best of the best in action.
During the three days of games, we saw a number of top players from that league – and a few of those players are not in a our rankings yet – either because we missed them in our previous scouting efforts or because we have not ranked those states yet.
Regan Ramirez, Legends FC 07 – I don’t remember seeing Regan Ramirez last season with this group, but I could be wrong. She did really next to Lexi Coughlin at center back. She was in the right spots, strong in the tackle, and got the ball off her feet quickly.
Emma Musiek, SLSG Navy 08 – Musiek scored the opening goal against Solar. She did well cutting around from the defender and then hitting a shot with her left into the upper corner of the net.
Leah Simpson, Sting Black 08 – Simpson had a great game against Concorde Fire Platinum. She plays on the “weak side” of the Sting attack since Chaump dominates so much of the ball and attention on the opposite. This might sound like Simpson is a role player, but that’s hardly the case. She finds space and plays in a free role. She is a speedy dribbler and can run away from players with the ball at her feet. She’s also good at getting on the end of crosses. Simpson made an impact in the game in an untraditional way for a winger, but it was meaningful for the result.
Dalia Asad, Mustang SC 08 – It was a tough outing for Mustang against Slammers Koge, but Asad showed some stuff during the game to suggest she should be in the rankings for this class. She is an active contributor all over the field. I think she started on the wing, but she was tucking inside to cut out passes and pressure the defense into turnovers. She had a shot blocked too as she got into the right spots. Asad made chances happen with her effort.
Emily Nunez Emily Nunez M Santa Margarita | 2026 CA , Slammers FC HB Koge 08 – Nunez had one of the best defensive plays I saw from the weekend. She had a perfect slide tackle to strip the ball from a forward on the Mustangs and then she popped up with the ball under her control to jump start the tackle going the opposition direction. The tackle alone was outstanding considering she was behind the player and had a small angle to pull it off, but the rest of the move really is something you rarely see at the youth level.
Julianne Richter Julianne Richter M Linfield Christian | 2026 CA , Slammers FC HB Koge 08 – Richter should be in our rankings. She was outstanding once again for Slammers. Her activity off the ball is one of the things that jumps out from in-person scouting that might be missed on game film. She made a great run off the ball for the second goal of the game. She covers a ton of ground. She’s smooth on the ball. And she can do pretty much anything. She is a great prospect for the No. 8 position.
Marin Kotschau, Colorado Rapids 08 – Kotschau was an undeniable force against Placer United on Saturday. She had the assist on the equalizer late and then provided the pass for another golden chance in the final seconds of the game. Kotschau is a winger with a lot of skill and creativity in the final third. The performance in Phoenix showed she can dominate at the 08 level.
Leah Negeri, Solar SC 07 – Negeri had a stellar showing against Michigan Hawks on Friday. The versatile player can fit any role in the defense. She is a fluid athlete who can match up with strong forwards as well as speedy ones. Negeri was everywhere in that shutout victory. Emerson Garcia, Mackenzie Mize and Jordyn Hardeman were also terrific for the Solar defense.
Kiera Brown, Tulsa SC 08 – Brown made some good saves against Chicago Inter. She did well moving her feet to get her body behind the ball. Brown was fearless in her approach and made a number of saves on the day on tough shots.
Katelyn Caballero, Utah Royals AZ 07 – Caballero was one of the standouts from the Utah Royals AZ midfielder in the dominant win over Eclipse Select. She impressed with her goal, but also did well whenever she was on the ball.
Brooklyn Jones, Utah Royals AZ 07 – Jones, the center back, was very good in the win over Eclipse. Composed on the ball and never in a rush, Jones made nearly perfect decisions on the ball.
Victoria Crabbe, Utah Royals AZ 07 – Crabbe, the other center back for Utah Royals, was an excellent 1v1 defender. She did well in timing her tackles and moving her feet to stay in front of the attacker.
Reece Reichwald, Utah Royals AZ 07 – Reichwald nearly had the shutout against Eclipse but her penalty kick save left a rebound for the lone goal for the opposition. Reichwald impressed me in how vocal she was during the game. She gave good instructions to her defenders.
Ann Philbin Ann Philbin D State #249 Nation IL , Eclipse Select 07 – Philbin had a great slide tackle block on a shot late in the game against Utah Royals AZ 07.
Jaycee Cope, Tulsa 08 – Cope impressed me with her vision and skill on the ball. The ideas were there for a player who was clearly capable of competing against top talent in this age group. Tulsa has a young squad in this age group but it’s clear they are trying to play the right way to develop the players for the next level. Cope is a good example of a player who should be one to watch in the future as the 2027 showed the potential to create chances whenever she was on the ball against Chicago Inter.
Keani Martinez, Chicago Inter 08 – Martinez immediately impressed me from the game against Tulsa SC. She was always on the front foot and found a lot of success down the wing – both on the dribble and through combination play.
Josslynn Farrare Josslynn Farrare F Hinsdale South | 2026 State IL , Chicago Inter 08 – Farrare dictated the game from her center midfield spot against Tulsa. She was sharp in the tackle, cut out passes, and quickly made decisions in the transition. She kept the pressure on the opposition and helped her team claim the win.
Payton Henry Payton Henry 5'8" | M Murrieta Valley | 2026 CA , So Cal Blues 08 – Henry played in the center midfield role against KC Athletics. She showed her toughness with some early (clean) tackles to set the tone. She also hit some excellent passes on the diagonal to send her wingers in on goal. Giselle Fuentes Gonzalez Giselle Fuentes Gonzalez 5'9" | M State CA and Darla Larson Darla Larson M CA were also standouts in the midfield for Blues.
Evie Kincaid, KC Athletics 08 – Kincaid is a top prospect from the 2028 class and she showed why in Phoenix. Even with her squad trailing, she was still driving for a result for her team. Kincaid strikes the ball incredibly well and it sounds pure when it comes off her foot. She was surrounded for much of the game against Blues, but the potential is obvious for the youngster.
MacKenzie Gwin MacKenzie Gwin F Camarillo | 2026 CA , So Cal Blues 08 – Gwin, who I believe was wearing No. 7 this weekend even though she is No. 11 on the roster, was the top performer against KC Athletics on Friday. She is a forward, started the game at center forward and then moved out to the wing. She likes to play on the right and cut inside to use her left. She buried the early goal with a terrific shot from distance. She showed a lot of characteristics that should translate to the top level of college soccer.
Morgan Humphrey, Eagles 08 – Humphrey had a good shift at center back for Eagles. She went step for step with the talented Hawks attack for the most part. Jilliana DiDomenico Jilliana DiDomenico F CA and Slater Copeland were also standouts for Eagles.
Danielle Bobowski, Michigan Hawks 08 – Bobowski was a standout against Eagles for her effort. She used her activity to create chances for herself and her teammates. She nearly converted on a really nice pass from Elizabeth Phillips in the second half. She was always giving the Eagles defense problems.
Addison Fife, Michigan Hawks 08 – Fife was the best player on the day in Hawks’ win over Eagles on Friday. I believe she ended the day with a pair of goals. Fife. Is skillful player who was on the ball a ton. With a clean first touch and a creative mind for getting past her mark, Fife is a top talent and showed it at ECNL PHX.
Amber Weaver, Michigan Hawks 08 – Weaver was a standout in the defense for Hawks. Physical in the tackle, dominant in aerial duels, and a good organizer, Weaver showed the quality that scouts love from center backs. Hawks defense did not allow many chances.
