After advancing three rounds in the playoffs, four teams in each region remain alive, but just one of them will earn the right to play for the state title in just over a week. The qualified teams will emerge from the four Regional Tournaments that will take place around the Lone Star State between Friday and Sunday.
As we prepare for a critical couple of days in the high school soccer season, let’s preview each of the four Regional Tournaments, looking at Region 4 in the final article of the series.
Teams: Harlingen (Harlingen), Round Rock (Round Rock), Taft (San Antonio) and Westlake (Austin)
Location: Comalander Stadium
Harlingen
The Lady Cardinals dominated District 24, finishing in first place with a perfect record of ten wins. Moving into the playoffs, the team didn’t slow down, beating Mission in bi-district, O’Connor in the area round and Warren in the regional quarterfinals. Harlingen have 21 wins and three losses in the season, with 91 goals scored and 22 conceded.
Players to Watch: Emma Guillen (sophomore goalkeeper), Grace Reed (senior midfielder) and Juliana Garcia (sophomore forward)
Round Rock
The Lady Dragons advanced to the playoffs as the top team in District 25, with an undefeated campaign of 13 wins and one tie. Round Rock continued to dominate in the postseason, getting wins over Johnson (bi-district), Reagan (area round) and Anderson (regional quarterfinals). Still undefeated in the season, the team has 19 wins and four ties, with 80 goals for and just 12 against.

Taft
The Lady Raiders won District 29 for a second-straight year with an undefeated campaign, getting 13 wins and three ties. Taft didn’t slow down in the playoffs, outscoring United South (bi-district), Los Fresnos (area round) and Brennan (regional quarterfinals) by 16-1. Considering the entire season, the team has 20 wins and four ties, with 117 goals registered by the offense and 19 conceded by the defense.
Players to Watch: Madissyn Harris Madissyn Harris GK William H. Taft | 2025 TX (junior goalkeeper), Bella Galan (senior defender) and Layla Rangel (senior forward)
Westlake
The Lady Chaparrals ranked third in District 26, with a campaign of ten wins, four ties and two losses. In the playoffs, they had close wins over Round Rock Westwood in bi-district, Johnson in the area round and Lake Travis in the regional quarterfinals to advance. With 14 wins, four losses and two ties, Westlake has 61 goals scored and 19 conceded in the season.
