Albion Hurricanes 1 - 2 Sting Austin

The first half of the match was very even and Sting benefited from a set piece to score first. Center back [player_tooltip player_id='26808' first='Jadyn' last='Jaeger'] took a corner kick in the near post and midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='27236' first='Shea' last='Sisson'] beat the defenders to the ball to head it to the back of the net.

The visitors doubled their lead in the second half, when midfielder Meredith got on the end of a long pass and shot from distance, beating Albion's goalkeeper [player_tooltip player_id='27222' first='Samantha' last='Qureshey'] to score. The hosts got one back when center back [player_tooltip player_id='54871' first='Kennedy' last='Reed'] dove to heat a cross from outside back [player_tooltip player_id='26369' first='Abigail' last='Ross'] into the back of the net, but couldn't find an equalizer in the final minutes.

She was very good at controlling the space in the area and dismantled several of Albion's attempts on that side. The center back used her body well to fight for space and dispossess opponents, but also displayed excellent and reading of the game to make interceptions and cover her teammates. Jaeger was very efficient with her passing too and did a very good job taking in-swing corner kicks from the right, assisting Sisson in the team's first goal.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-664225d023ac5"} /-->

She was everywhere defensively and appeared in important moments to win the ball and avoid what could be dangerous finishes from Albion. Ferrell's distribution was excellent as she connected her passes at a very high rate and made some really intelligent shifts to break pressure. The midfielder also did a good job in set pieces, creating chances with her corner kicks and free kicks.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-664225d023b32"} /-->

She also played with a lot of intensity, helping her team win the midfield battle, and stepped up to shield the team's backline with great efficiency. Although Snell's passing was also very effective, she had more of a presence in the final third than Ferrell as while her teammate would often drop deeper to help circulate the ball, she would attempt to create chances with quick runs through the middle.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-664225d023b80"} /-->

She made great use of her positional freedom to roam around and explore the spaces she found to create chances. The midfielder was particularly dangerous when she got the ball on the left as she could bring it inside to finish or pass with her preferred right foot. Koltz was always very direct with her plays and was rewarded for her confidence to shoot from distance with the game-winning goal.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-664225d023bc7"} /-->

She spent time on both wing positions, using her dribbling and pace to beat defenders, and also more centrally, where she got to combine with her teammates and finish chances. Sisson scored her team's first goal in a moment in which the match was very even, moving well to beat defenders to the ball and heading it with precision. The midfielder also played an important defensive role near the end, dropping back to offer support on the left, helping Sting sustain Albion's final push.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-664225d023c0d"} /-->

She read the game very well and knew exactly when to step up and occupy the space in front of the penalty box or to stay back and get ready to cover her teammates. Reed was very successful in most of the duels she was involved and helped disrupt some plays. She was moved up to striker during the second half and provided the presence and the energy the team needed up top, scoring off of a header, having some other chances in the air and putting pressure on Sting Austin's center backs when they had the ball.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-664225d023c53"} /-->

She got the job done defensively, going at duels with great energy and also provided some much-needed offensive support from the left. In the second half, she sent some dangerous crosses from just over the halfway line, including the one that found Reed's head for the equalizer.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-664225d023c99"} /-->

The midfielder moved well to avoid the pressure of Sting Austin's defender and did a very good job of finding teammates in dangerous spots with her passing. Morgan was also intelligent to play quickly when she had space, igniting some quick transition plays that resulted in finishes. She made some smart runs into the penalty box, appearing there on some occasions to finish chances, and spent part of the second half playing in a deeper position (some of it at center back) and strengthening the team's buildup.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-664225d023cdc"} /-->
