With MLS Next Cup coming to a close, we take a look back at some other players who made their mark but we did not get a chance to discuss. Here are five U17's that come to mind:

Arteaga impressed in both the U16 and U17 semi-finals, showing a capability with the ball at his foot that rivaled the best at the MLS Next tournament. He consistently found his teammates as outlets and combined with them in the attacking third to create shooting opportunities and scores for LAFC, and was even able to find the net himself. There's much more to be seen from this young man as he continues to progress as a player.

An outside back that can do it all, Harrington was the backbone of the Union defense in both the U16 and U17 outfits. He consistently made plays up and down the wing for his sides, proving his defensive abilities and showing off an offensive skill set as well. He provided several outlets and combination opportunities for his wingers, and could put in crosses into dangerous positions that the opposition did not expect.

Langendam operated as a strong defensive midfielder, regularly winning the ball and finding outlets to spring his team forward into attacking positions. His recovery runs were exceptional and he found himself regularly in quality positions to defend the space in front of the center backs, clearing out crosses and dangerous passes from the opposition.

Gomez played exceptionally well in goal, making up for a number of mistakes and wrong footings by his side. He came up with several crucial saves that kept the match close, and when called upon put his body on the line in order to do what was necessary. His collection and distribution of the ball were top notch, and his positioning was regularly what led him to making saves.

Velazquez impressed as an outside back, regularly creating combinations and offering quality body shape to support his attacking teammates as LAFC made their way forward. In defense he showed a strong and capable physical presence, regularly winning 50/50 balls and putting his body in between the ball and the attacker in order to win possession.

De Lapp positioned himself well and made the most of his size to make the saves he was able to within the time observed. He was regularly put under pressure by the opposition, but he came out to claim crosses well and showed off exceptional shot stopping ability. De Lapp was willing to cut off angles and put his body in harm's way, and his reflexes and ability to get low to make saves were put to the test and shown off.
