Best of the best shine at Prep Soccer ID So Cal

The first Prep Soccer ID Camp was held on Saturday in Glendale, California. The Southern California event was a showcase for many of the top players in the region. The big name prospects showed out on the day.    Below is a scouting report on some of the top performers from the event.     Beary is the top goalkeeper from the 2027 class and continues to show why she is so highly rated with every opportunity. There is a lot to like about her game, but the aspect that stood out to me on Saturday was her leadership qualities. In a small-side game when everyone wants to score, she had her teammates playing in defense with conviction. She is a vocal leader and the way she communicates with teammates is extraordinary. Beary is a competitive player and demands the best of herself. As long as she continues to enjoy the process of working toward that goal, there is every belief that she will be playing at the highest level of the game in future.     Henry is a two-time all-event honoree at a Prep Soccer event. All of the coaches noted her play and suggest her as one of the top performers of the day. She is a two-way midfielder who impacts the game with winning plays all over the field. I didn't note anything new or improvement in her game from this camp compared to November, but I did notice quite a bit of confidence in her play. She is a more assured player and that attribute shines when she knows she can take over the game. Henry is going to be an early contributor at the next level.     Jackson is a defender with excellent technique in her tackling, duels, and ability to read the game. She is good on the ball too, as one would expect of a player at the Youth National Team level. However, it was the way she defended and the ability to use her body to shield players off the ball that really stood out to me from the games on Saturday. She is at ease in the tackle and reads when to step into the challenge so well for a club level player. Jackson's defensive technique combined with her attacking instincts make her an ideal fit for a wing back in the future. She has a high ceiling for that role.     Sia is a defender on the Legends 09 ECNL team and the Philippines U17 Women's National Team. She can play anywhere along the backline. I saw her play quite a bit as a center back during the full-field games. The ability to organize her teammates and step up into make the tackle stood out from that environment. The coaches on hand noted her quality in the small-side games as well. She was able to how she skill on the ball and pick out passes with accuracy and pass. She was a player that everyone wanted to play with because of those attributes she brought to the game.     Baca was an early standout on the day, as she shined during the more technical section of the ID Camp. Baca is a midfielder on the So Cal Blues ECNL team. She is right footed with clean footwork. She plays with her head up and was one of the top players in the passing pattern sequence, which showcased her soccer intelligence and excellent technique.     Ortiz is another player from the ID Camp with International experience. The Heat FC standout part of the Dominican Republic Youth National Team. She has a lot of versatility to her game. There is a feeling she could play any position on the field. I thought her game awareness really shined at the ID Camp. She made quick decisions on the ball and set her teammate up for chances or created chances for herself in the full-field game and the small-side game.
