Scouting Report: Top Texas Forwards in the 2028 Class

Steil is one of the top players from the Houston area. She is an attacking talent who can feature as a midfielder or a forward. I think she projects as a No. 10 at the highest level of the game, which is the best spot to utilize her vision, passing, and goal scoring ability. She is right footed and scored a number of goals from distance last season. She has been a top performer at the Girls Academy level and should be competing against older players this season to get a new challenge. Steil has the tools and mindset to be a name to know for a long time in this class.     Asekomhe has game-breaking qualities. She is also already a highly-decorated prospect. She made the 2024 id2 National Selection International Tour roster. She scored the lone goal for that team in the win over Real Madrid. Asekomhe showed well during the ECNL playoffs. She played as the No. 9 for her club side. She has good instincts with her back-to-goal play. She has a quick burst with her first step and the ability to allude challenges with her skill on the ball. Asekomhe has shown glimpses of greatness at the highest level to lead scouts to believe she is capable of reaching the top levels of the game.     Goncalves is a forward on the FC Dallas 2010 ECNL team. She is also part of the Brazil Youth National Team and has been called into US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. She played center forward during the playoffs for Dallas Texans, but she is capable of playing as a winger or an attacking midfielder. She is skillful on the ball and likes to keep close control. She is good with either foot and a talented finisher. She is attack-minded and always wants to get forward in a hurry. Technically she is brilliant on the ball that she is one of the most difficult forwards for defenders to stay in front of. She cuts the ball with sublime precision and leaves defenders on the ground in her wake. Goncalves stands out for her unique qualities. She doesn't use speed or strength to overwhelm, but relies on skill and savvy. She has been an impressive standout at the 2010 age group and earned some play with the 09 age group within her club, FC Dallas. I like the potential Collins has shown as a playmaker on the wing. She wins the duels against the outside backs. She has a variety of ways to get past the defender - pace, skill, and strength. The continued progression and challenge against better and older opponents should help Collins elevate her game to prepare for the next level.     Geyer is a dynamic forward on the Sting Royal 2010 ECNL team. She has a bit of flash and flair to her game. She is shifty on the ball and skillful with the dribble. She megged a number of outside backs in the past and will continue to create nightmares for defenders. She has quick feet and the confidence to go at defenders. Geyer is a driven player who continues to improve her craft. She was outstanding during the ECNL playoffs and should be a top player during this upcoming season.
