Breakout stars to watch from Virginia’s 2028 rankings

She is the captain of the team. She has been part of the US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. I've seen Ford play as the left center back for her club team. She is right footed. She's a competitive player with a drive to be the best. Ford is the type of player who is going to do everything in her power to help her team win. She can hit the skin off the ball with her booming right leg. She is listed as a forward on her player profile. She played center back during the ECNL playoffs at times too. I think she's most likely to line up as a forward on the wing this season. She has the physical frame to dominate at the youth level. With a long stride and bundles of athleticism, the game comes easy for Curry. She is capable of bursting through the center of the field with the ball at her feet and equally as good at shutting down the opposition with her tackling. She handled some difficult passes into her feet with expertise. She has a good first touch and does well using her body to shield players off the ball. Tactically, she seems a little hesitant in her role in the center of the field. Valencia's knack for keeping the ball under control while using body feints to send the defender to the ground is a joy to watch. She is exceptional passer too, who does really well with controlling the weight of the pass and leading her teammates into space. She was often on an island during the postseason as she handled the top of the attack against a plethora of defenders. She did remarkably well winning possession of the ball for her side. She likes to get the ball off her feet quickly when she is far away from goal and playing combination passes to get it back into space. She rushed this a few times during the game s in Washington. If she continues to work on the timing of those passes, she will unlock the NVA attack against the top teams in the country. The NVA standout is electric on the ball and a bit of a jitterbug with quick feet and body feints. Medina impressed me during the ECNL postseason as she consistently made the right play and always came away with the ball in a tackle. She uses her body well and keeps great balance. She does well in getting the ball off her feet quickly too. She is finds the outlet and springs the attack.
