Center backs and GKs on rise in Texas 2026 Rankings

The Solar 07 ECNL standout was exceptional at center back and had a highlight-reel worthy performance against NC Courage. She is a smart player with high-level tactical awareness. The way she shut down the opposition with her positioning and timing of her tackles is something many youth players should study. She is right footed and can play either center back position in the traditional back four. Bailey's competitive drive immediately stands out from her game. She plays at full ferocity from the opening whistle. She is dominant in aerial duels and shows good technique in 1v1 defensive battles. She is tough in the tackle and fearless in throwing her body in front of shots. On the ball, she plays with her head up and looks to spring the attack. She is good on the dribble and can beat the press with the ball at her feet. She's enjoyed a stellar run of play at club and high school level lately. See projects as a center back for the next level. She is a strong defender with great instincts and an unmatched tenacity. She has excellent technique in striking the ball and an ability to switch the point of attack with a booming kick. See is a weapon on set pieces - both with her delivery and with her finishing. She can play center back or outside back. She is a terrific on-ball defender. She is sharp in the timing of her tackle and smart about using her body to control the duel. Katz's strength is her passing as well. She has excellent vision and does well in picking the pass to split the lines and find the feet of her teammates. She is a multi-sport athlete and looks to be having a terrific cross country season as a junior based on race results. She is an exceptional shot stopper. Her early contributions this season have earned her a place on the club Team of the Week. She is capable of game-deciding plays with her acrobatic blocks.
