Lake Highlands high school has a good problem, and that is having so much talent. It is hard to break in at some positions, but that leads to competition which leads to improvement. However, despite having all of this talent, four out of the five who are in their open recruiting window are looking for college homes. They are standout players, so let's take a look at them and hope they find a home soon.

Annie Becker, Outside Defender/Forward, Class of 2025

Becker is a two-footed player that can play as an outside back or a wide forward. She has speed and quickness, and toughness when operating against outside defenders from other teams. Her ability to pick a pass is quite good as she oftentimes delivers a ball across the pitch, outside of the technical area to find an open teammate as opposed to always just running to the corner and blindly crossing. Her link up play is also very good as she excels with combination footy, and she displays strong finishing ability.

Stella Beirute, Outside Defender, Class of 2028

Beirute has great size for a freshman, which is already going to get her some looks. Then you throw in the athleticism and the advanced understanding of the game and you have a top prospect from the 2028 class. She's very brave and courageous and does not back down, so when the high school season starts, handling older players won't be a problem. She's really crafty and clever, she can make people miss and isn't your classic sprint up and down the line outside back. She likes to express herself, she likes to tuck in, to over and underlap and she sends balls into the box in creative ways.

Lila Brackin, Attacking Midfielder/Forward, Class of 2025

Brackin is a smooth and skilled player, who shows great confidence in her ability as you can see by the way she puts her head and her boot through the ball, and in how she is able to navigate traffic. She breaks down defenders with relative ease, flashing her technical skills and she also has a very good tactical awareness. She is a force moving forward as she is very aggressive in how she attacks the ball, and she so often beats defenders to the spot by wanting it more. She's clever, creative, skilled and aggressive.

[player_tooltip player_id='26638' first='Danielle' last='Chaump'], Forward, Class of 2026

Photo: Preston Patton, https://www.prestonpattonphotography.com/

Chaump is already a verbal commit to the University of Kentucky, and is an exciting and talented forward. She's left-foot dominant, but plays as a No. 7 which tells you that she's very good with her right foot as well. However, if you let her cut back on her left foot, consider yourself done for. She's super quick so she creates space, so keeping her from cutting back on that foot is tough. She can finish from tight angles, she can go near post, she can go far post and she can hit the ball one-time. She's a goal scorer who scores with either foot from a variety of areas.

[player_tooltip player_id='26848' first='Kacy' last='Corcoran'], Central Midfielder, Class of 2027

Photo: Preston Patton, https://www.prestonpattonphotography.com/

Corcoran is a center mid with pace, skill and conviction. She gets after it, she covers ground and she moves quickly. She can do whatever needs to be done, whether that's be a motor, facilitate or push and be a threat. She can score from distance, she can turn defenders and she can weave through traffic with her foot skills. She has a forward's scoring ability and has the high-level understanding of a midfielder.

Emma Hatton, Outside Defender, Class of 2025

When you watch her play, you can tell that she works very hard on her footwork and her ball skills. She is incredibly neat and tidy with the ball at her feet and her movements are very precise. She is incredibly agile with terrific stop and start, and she is quick and twitchy, which makes for a matchup nightmare on the outside. She gets up and down the pitch well, she receives and distributes very well, also. She delivers on-the-money crosses, she plays balls in and across the face of goal with accuracy, and she has a deadly one-time shot. She is a complete all-around threat.

[player_tooltip player_id='227872' first='Addyson' last='Perez'], Central Midfielder, Class of 2027

There is a coolness about Perez. She looks super comfortable and is very composed, even when surrounded by pressure. She is just unfazed when the ball is at her feet. She shows of really good technical skills as well, sliding passes into spaces that most wouldn't try. She's very clever in finding ways to get the ball to her teammates as well. She has the vision and creativity to thread the needle. And though she's very unselfish, she can put defenders in the blender, create space and get off a shot from range.

[player_tooltip player_id='26495' first='Ashlyn' last='Steele'], Central Midfielder, Class of 2025

Steele is a player who is hyper competitive and brings that energy with her into every match. She shows explosiveness in the midfield, and she couples that with a creativity, exceptional vision and standout soccer instincts. A senior captain, Steele is a player that works hard, and leads by example but is also a vocal leader

[player_tooltip player_id='112587' first='Lola-Iris' last='Ta'], Keeper, Class of 2028

Ta is just a freshman but shows great instincts for the game. She reads and reacts quickly, anticipates well and positions herself well, flowing with the play. But when it gets chaotic in the box, her instant reaction seems to be the right one and that comes from an understanding of the sport. She's a courageous keeper who will leave her feet to get a touch, she shows good coverage and seems to be able to make all of the stops.

Lake Highlands high school has a good problem, and that is having so much talent. It is hard to break in at some positions, but that leads to competition which leads to improvement.
