ECNL Week 7 Northern Cal Standouts

De Anza Force VS Bay Area Surf was the most intriguing match-up from the weekend especially in the 2008 age group. There were some surprising results in a handful of age groups including a 2-2 tie in the 2009 age group between Marin and MVLA and a 3-0 win for Placer over Mustang in the 2008 age group. Bay Area Surf won 3-0 and Moodie was big time on both ends of the field. She was a rock defensively with her well timed tackles, ability to read the other teams passes and she bullied opposition attackers. She scored a banger and was very calm in maintaining possession for her team. The defensive midfielder is making a claim of being one of if not the best 6 in the country in this age group. She scored 3 goals and was involved in many others in her teams 12-0 win against Marin. This 2010 MVLA team is scary good. Last year this Force team made it all the way to the national Semi-Finals and has an exceptional roster. Travers did not look out of place at all and matched the bigger, stronger girls with her exceptional soccer IQ. She reads the game at an extremely high level and always seems to be 2 or 3 actions ahead. She's very tactical and calm in possession and breaks lines efficiently. She scored a great game winning volley in a 1-0 win against Santa Rosa United on Saturday. She also played a big part in a forced an Own Goal against De Anza on Sunday.
