The end of the calendar year tends to lead to reflection. One of the states that has been in the spotlight recently from college coaches, showcase events, and youth national team scouts has been New York. The state is producing some gems from a number of classes across the range.

The 2026 class is the top priority for college coaches as they finalized the recruiting class for that group. There are still some highly ranked players in the New York 2026 class who remain uncommitted at this point.

[player_tooltip player_id='111746' first='Rory' last='Kingsley'] - Kingsley is a forward for the WNY Flash 08 ECNL team. She can play as a center forward, support striker, or on the wing. Kingsley's strengths are numerous. She can play with her back to the goal. She has a good first touch. She does well playing off the shoulder of the defender. She has a good shot with her right foot. The best attribute of her game compared to her peers is her quality defensively. She is an active contributor in the press. She understands how to eliminate passing options and force the opposition to one side of the field with how she approaches the ball. On ball defensively, she puts the defender under pressure and creates mistakes with her pressure. Kingsley could improve on her finishing and the timing of her runs. She drifted offside a couple of times during the recent ECNL games. She also had a couple of chances that she probably should've converted. She's still a good finisher for the club game, but those chances are fewer and harder to come by at the next level so she needs to make sure every time she gets the ball in a key spot, she buries her shot into the back of the net. Kingsley offers the physical profile for a difference-maker in the attack - good strength, speed, and skill. She is a weapon on set pieces with her ability to win aerial duels. She should have plenty of scouts reaching out in 2025 looking for forwards from this group.

[player_tooltip player_id='125016' first='Jordan' last='Ford'] - Ford is an ECNL All-Conference Honoree from the 08 age group who remains uncommitted. The defender offers a lot of strong qualities to her game. Her recent play at the ECNL St. Louis National Event showed how dominant she is at the youth level. Decisive on the ball, she started the attack for her side with her passing out of the back. The left footed center back impressed with her accuracy in the passing and ability to pick out her teammates between defenders. Ford possesses elite defensive qualities including her 1v1 defending and her recovery speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='276009' first='Brooke' last='Doreste'] - Doreste is a midfielder on the SUSA 08 ECNL. Gifted on the ball, tough in the tackle, and commanding in her instructions, she takes on the role of the organizer and creator for her team. She is listed as a forward on her player profile, but she is a do-it-all midfielder. The right-footed maestro was brilliant during the high school season, and the confidence has carried over to the club game. She was a standout during the recent ECNL event with her play in the center of the first for SUSA. She was terrific against FC Pride. Her decision-making on the ball showed a high-level tactical understanding and was a key for her side retaining possession.

[player_tooltip player_id='178412' first='Ella' last='Perkins'] - Perkins is an outside back on the WNY Flash 08 ECNL team. She can play on either side of the formation. A tenacious 1v1 defender with good pace, Perkins is a valuable player for her club side. She had a good showing at the recent ECNL event. She was active in the attack with her ability to whip in a cross. And shut down some top wingers at the competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='110849' first='Christina' last='Festa'] - Festa is a midfielder on the World Class 08 ECNL team. She has a great first touch and can play out of tight spaces with her creativity and ball control. Festa's nimbleness on the ball is the obvious trait, but it's her movement off the ball that sets her apart. She is constantly adjusting and opening her body as an option for the next pass. She's a ball-hungry midfielder who contributes the key pass regularly.

[player_tooltip player_id='276014' first='Kaitlyn' last='Tansey'] - Tansey is a defender who can play any spot along the back four. She played left back for a spell during the ECNL event in St. Louis and I thought that was her best role. There is a lot to love about her game. Her comfort with the ball at her feet is her strongest attribute. She gets around the opposition with combination passes and always offers an outlet for her midfielders. Tansey did not have to do much defensively from the game film I watched, but based on highlights she is strong on the ball and uses her body well in the tackle. She can play as a center back too. She reads the game and anticipates where to be. Her dribbling to break the press is another strength of her player profile. She gets around the first defender with her touch and then makes an outlet pass to keep the ball moving for her side. She is the type of defender that the opposition will just stop pressing after some time because of her strength in that area.

[player_tooltip player_id='169395' first='Petra' last='Bandula'] - Bandula has appeared on Prep Soccer in the past and her recent play deserves a return to the spotlight. The midfielder for WNY Flash 08 ECNL was outstanding during the ECNL event in St. Louis. She is a brilliant passer. She sees the game a pass or two ahead. Her experience at the international level with the Croatia Youth National Teams has prepared her well for the competitions at the club level and should have her ready to contribute at the college level immediately. Bandula's nonstop energy is another asset. She is a willing runner from the attacking midfield spot and covers a ton of ground during the game - not something that shows up on her highlights, but plainly obvious from her game film. She's a top talent on the national scene from the uncommitted pool. She's one of the highest ranked players based in Canada.

[player_tooltip player_id='275988' first='Mia' last='Claro'] - Claro is a left-footed attacking talent. She can play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder. The aspect of her game that stands out the most is her ability on set pieces. She delivers an excellent ball on corner kicks - accuracy and pace that suggest it will be incredibly valuable at the college level too. Left-footed players are unique but it's Claro's vision and passing that make her special. She is a creative force for her club team and has been a brilliant playmaker at the top level of the club game.

[player_tooltip player_id='276002' first='Lucia' last='Devito'] - Devito is one of those players who was so good at the high school level that she needs to get the spotlight in this group. Devito is a midfielder who has the attacking playmaking quality to be an asset in the attack as well. She is left-footed. Her close control of the ball and vision are the best two attributes of her game. She is competitive and showed her winning desire during this high school campaign. Devito is going to be an impact player at the next level.

Katie Cragan - Cragan is a forward/midfielder. She was the best player on the Pine Bush side last season. She was a dominant force at the high school level and earned All-State honors. Her game tape against Monroe Woodbury showed what type of player she is. Often surrounded by multiple defenders, Cragan still found ways to impact the game. She has pace, power, and skill. She's an excellent ball-striker and shows great technique. Cragan has top level potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='275987' first='Kate' last='Allen'] - Allen is a midfielder from Monroe-Woodbury. She played for Hudson Valley Crusaders in the United Women's Soccer League last season. Allen was also an All-State honoree at the high school level. She is a versatile midfielder who will do anything to help her team win. She is fearless in the tackle. She is high-energy and covers a ton of ground. Allen's experience against older competition should show she is ready for the jump to the next level.
