The Atascocita Lady Eagles from Humble made it as far as the Regional Quarterfinals last season, ending their season with 18 wins, five losses and three ties after they finished second in District 21. Most of the change coming into 2025 will be on the backline as goalkeeper Jess Aguilar and defenders Mya Reyes, Reese Armand and Ella Arenivas were all part of the team's graduating class. In the upcoming season, expect their backline to be led by senior [player_tooltip player_id='26458' first='Andrea' last='Delgado'] and junior Kaylen Dorsett, with senior [player_tooltip player_id='26367' first='Abigail' last='Friday'], juniors [player_tooltip player_id='89937' first='Caitlyn' last='Trosclair'] and Paige Kees and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='112606' first='Brielle' last='Hernandez'] appearing in midfield and sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='112761' first='Logan' last='Reich'] and [player_tooltip player_id='229561' first='Sophie' last='Chavez'] playing in attack.

The sophomore is the engine of the team, keeping their rhythm intense with her high-energy game in midfield. Hernandez covers a lot of ground on both sides of the ball and is very good at dribbling the ball forward through the middle, using her pace and ball control to do it. She's also extremely well-versed in the final third, always picking the right options and finding teammates in good spots to finish - she had seven goals and seven assists last season. Hernandez likes to get in behind opposing backlines and does and excellent job of staying onside - she's also very calm and efficient with her finishes. The midfielder also contributes defensively, playing with great energy off the ball and helping her team regain possession.

A midfielder at the club level, Reich is typically used in the striker role with the Lady Eagles. Her big frame makes of her a great option to play inside the penalty box, but her intelligence and quality on the ball are perhaps even more important. Reich can win physical duels and knows how to operate in tight spaces, but she is also very skilled with her passing, serving as a facilitator to the team's offense. She produced an impressive 19 goals as a freshman and is also very dangerous when getting in behind the backline with her runs. Because of her ability to play in midfield, she can also work as a 'false nine', dropping deeper and creating space for the wingers to make diagonal runs into the penalty box.

A senior, Delgado will have a key role in anchoring Atascocita's new-look backline in 2025. Originally a left back, she has tremendous offensive skills, dribbling the ball efficiently in wide positions, connecting great passes and sending accurate crosses into the penalty box. Delgado has been playing as a left-sided center back with the Lady Eagles and has been a great fit there, doing solid defensive work with her tackles and strengthening the team's buildup with her quality on the ball. She's the team's go-to player in set pieces and contributed six goals and four assists in her junior year.
