I was 7 of 8 in my first round result predictions for the first round of game. The only one I didn't get right was a shocking result of #15 seed Liberty upsetting #2 seed San Ramon Valley 3-2 at home. Playoff games on the road are never easy to win. If you win your league you get a first round playoff game at home. San Ramon Valley did not win their very difficult league so they were forced to go on the road. Congratulations to Liberty High School on the big upset as they travel to #10 seed Monte Vista for their second round game tomorrow.

In our first Quarter-Final game, #1 seed Carondelet will play #9 seed Acalanes at home on Saturday night. Carondelet squeaked by 16 seed Ukiah High school in the first round. Needing a goal in the last 10 minutes to force a 2-2 tie leading to overtime. No one could score during the extra period and ultimately Carondelet advanced on pens. Acalanes had a more straightforward game against Redwood winning 4-2 against Las Lomas on the road. I think Carondelet shakes off the nerves and prevails in this one.

Prediction: Carondelet 2-0 Acalanes

In our second Quarter-Final, Amador will take on Tamalpais High School. Amador had a dominant first round performance thumping Vintage 5-0 at home. While Tamalpais had a closer first round win against Northgate winning 2-1. I think Amador might be the most dangerous team in this competition. They have so much positive momentum in their favor and I think they take care of business at home in this one.

Prediction: Amador 3-1 Tamalpais

In our 3rd Quarter-Final, #15 seed Liberty High School will take on #10 seed Monte Vista. Can Liberty High School pull off another big upset? They will have to do it on the road this time against a very good Monte Vista who are coming off an emphatic 3-0 first round win against Casa Grande. It won't be easy but I think Monte Vista takes care of this years early cinderella.

Prediction: Monte Vista 2-1 Liberty

In our last Quarter-Final brings a very intriguing matchup between #3 seed Bishop O'dowd vs #11 seed Miramonte. Choosing a winner is tough one in this one as I think it is a classic case of best team versus best player. Bishop O'Dowd have the better team from top to bottom. But I believe that [player_tooltip player_id='82886' first='Sadie' last='Leal-Schuman'] is the best player in this contest followed closely by fellow juniors [player_tooltip player_id='111260' first='Abby' last='Forsgren'] and [player_tooltip player_id='289538' first='Chloe' last='Keating'] of Bishop O'Dowd. I think it is very simple for the Dragons in this one, if you keep Leal-Schuman off the ball you have a great chance of winning the game. I think the better team prevails.

Prediction: Bishop O'Dowd 3-1 Miramonte
