Prep Soccer Texas was in attendance during all three days of action in Dallas, covering dozens of matches and taking a look at hundreds of the players who got on the field during the extended weekend.

We continued to feature the players who impressed us with their games this week, this time in the 08 division, and as we bring our event coverage to an end, it's time we give some forward a well-deserved shout-out:

Chaump was part of the Sting Black team that completed their schedule in the event with two wins and one loss. I got to watch her and the teammates in their first match in Dallas, a 1-0 win over De Anza Force, in which she was one of their main offensive weapons. Playing more centrally than she used to do in the past, Chaump was very dangerous in the final third with her ability to perform different roles in her team. She was very good when working as the focal point of their attack, getting on the end of long passes and combining well through the middle, but also moved wide to take advantage of her pace to beat defenders. The forward also appeared well when she dropped deep to get on the ball and find her teammates in wider spots and sprinted to the penalty box to get ready for their crosses.

Palmer was with the Kansas City Athletics team that got two a win and two losses over the weekend in Dallas. I managed to catch their last match in the recent, a 3-2 loss to OK Energy FC, on Monday. Playing as a winger, Palmer was a constant threat to the opposing backline with her confidence on the ball and her determination to beat defenders off the dribble. She spent time on the right and the left sides and was dangerous on both, at times taking the ball to the end line and on other occasions bringing it inside to combine with teammates. Palmer also displayed good tactical discipline, tracking back to defend the opposing outside back when she pushed forward.

Shaw stood out for the OK Energy FC team that went undefeated in the event, returning home with three victories. Her team's offense scored eight goals and she was involved in five, registering three goals and two assists. I got to watch her in a 3-2 win over Kansas City Athletics on Monday, when she scored a goal. Shaw was very active offensively and made great choices in the final third, creating good opportunities with most of the balls that got to her. She also did a great job of pressing opposing defenders to win the ball or force them into making mistakes.

Hill captained her Solar SC team to a campaign of one win and two ties in Dallas. The forward was very active offensively in their match in the event, a 3-3 tie with De Anza Force on Monday. Typically a dynamic and athletic winger, Hill played a different role this time, appearing more centrally and a little bit deeper to contribute to the team's playmaking. She wasn't as intense as usual, but did good things every time she got on the ball, beating opponents off the dribble and connecting intelligent passes. She assisted in the team's third goal with a beautiful through ball.

Steel played up top for the Rockford Raptors team that returned home from Texas with two wins and one loss. I got to watch her in their only upset, a 4-1 loss to the [program_tooltip program_id='278678' first='Dallas' last='Texans'] on Monday, in which she contributed an assist in the team's only goal. A lefty, Steel played almost as a false nine, dropping deep to get on the ball and playing a major in the team's playmaking with her ability to connect with the wide players. She also made some nice runs on and off the ball through the middle and displayed great quality in passing and shooting, using her skills extremely well to produce in the final third.
