Quinn made seven saves in the first half, and four of those saves were incredible. Quinn was one of the largest reasons that Walsh Jesuit didn't concede any goals in the first half. He did not face as many attempts in the second half or overtime, but he still maintained a clean sheet.

Frederick Marcell had a great game in the midfield. Frederick stood out to me the most for his control of the ball. He was very comfortable in the midfield from start to finish and brought a calming effect when he was on the ball. Frederick has good vision of the field and makes good decisions on the ball. Frederick can beat a defender off the dribble, which allows him to stay calm on the ball and find a good option. He played multiple great long balls in this game and took a large amount of the team's set pieces. Frederick netted his penalty kick in the shootout to give Walsh Jesuit their first.

Sam Lindimore had an outstanding performance on the wing in this game. Sam is very creative on the ball and wants to make big plays. He is elusive and quick which allows him to beat multiple defenders and make a play. It is very difficult to keep Sam from getting to the end line and serving a cross. In addition to being a formidable offensive force, Sam is willing to track back and make defensive plays. He is not scared to get stuck in and wants to win the ball back. Sam netted his penalty kick in the shootout.

Ben Verst had a sensational performance in the midfield this game. I first noticed how well Ben positioned himself to receive the ball, always finding the gaps between lines of defenders. As the game went on, Ben continued to receive the ball in these postions, and constantly switched the field and found another foot. Ben rarely lost his team possession and maintained a very high rate of play throughout regulation. Ben is a great possesion style midfielder and makes the difficult things look simple. Ben took a great penalty kick in the shootout as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='14641' first='London' last='Sears'] had a great offensive performance in this game. London has great control of the ball and is able to keep defenders guessing when he has it. London created some of the most dangerous opportunities of the game and was particularly dangerous in the overtime period of the game. London is a fundamental player who takes advantage of over-aggressive defenders and defensive breakdowns. Sears netted the first penalty kick of the penalty kick shootout.

Congratulations to both teams on a great season, and congratulations to New Albany Mens Soccer on the programs first OHSAA State Championship!
