2A Matchday 6’s Best Performers

Matchday 6 of the 2A level was extremely hard fought, making many of the talents work hard. With so many closely contested and important, potentially season-defining matches, the players had to be as effective as they are talented. After dozens of matches, the following players were the best, in my opinion.    Riley is a talented and highly effective forward who proves to be a vital player for her team's success. Her positioning is always correct, knowing where to go to receive the ball to help advance the play. Her link-up play is great, helping circulate the ball in the final third. Not only does she help circulate the ball in the final third, but also within the channels. This allows for the team to generate danger more centrally. She doesn't only help down the middle, though, helping the play advance out wide as well. In the box, she's a killer, scoring goals more often than she misses shots.     Casey is an out-and-out striker, the typical killer number 9. She loves to play on the shoulders of the defenders, making runs in behind constantly. Since she's incredibly fast, these runs leave her completely through on goal. As said before, she makes these runs all match long, showing that she's also tireless. When she's one-on-one with the goalkeeper, she keeps her cool to slot the ball in the back of the net. Her technical ability also helps her get past defenders, too, getting past defenders effectively when she needs to.     Jenna makes her <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/04/2a-matchday-4s-best-performers/">second appearance</a> in this series, though in this match for different reasons. She once again proves to be a complete weapon in the final third, making her team play better. Her distribution remains impeccable, however, in this matchday, she proved to be a clinical striker. In a 6-0 win, she got 5 goals, adding to her insane goal tally for the season. In the box, she's a constant threat, especially when she finds a pocket of space. She doesn't only find the back of the net from a short range, however. Her long shots are powerful, making them difficult for the keeper to reach them.     Taylor is another player who proves her consistency, especially since she has already appeared in a <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/03/nchs-girls-preseason-best-performers/">previous article</a> as well. Though her team narrowly lost by one, the performance she delivered was fantastic. Her team scored two goals, where she scored one and assisted the other. Constantly driving her team forward with her dribbles all game long, she wasn't afraid to put her team on her back. Always keeping her head up, she knew where and when to run or pass. Her intelligence makes her a brilliant player to keep an eye on.     Macie has already appeared in this series <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/04/2a-matchday-3s-best-players/">before</a>, proving how consistent she is. In a hard-fought match, her team needed her to back up her talent with goals. That is exactly what she did, scoring a vital hat-trick in her team's 3-2 win. She did so by taking her chances when they were presented to her, which was crucial because there weren't many. Her constant press made the opposing defense uncomfortable all game long. Alongside this, she also dropped back as much as needed to help move the ball forward.
