Talent Rich: North Carolina's Elite 2028 Goalkeepers

The North Carolina 2028 state rankings will be updated this week. Prior to the release of the rankings, this is a highlight of the most talent-rich position in the state, goalkeeper. The shot-stoppers in North Carolina from 2028 are among the best in the country. Check out a scouting report on the top five below.    Newcome is a goalkeeper on the [program_tooltip program_id='283284' first='Charlotte' last='SA'] 2010 ECNL team. She has been part of the US Soccer U15 Girls National Team in the past. She was also selected to play in the ECNL Conference Cup over the summer. Newcome is one of the top goalkeepers in the country. She is an excellent shot-stopper who also shines with her quality on the ball. Newcome's quick reaction on rebounds and her excellent footwork on preparation before the shot are two of the top attributes of her game. She's a clever player who is exceptional at many key attributes for the position. She's going to be busy with suitors for her services at the next level.     Cavitt is the goalkeeper on the [program_tooltip program_id='283284' first='Charlotte' last='SA'] 2009 ECNL team. She was an ECNL All-Conference selection last season. She has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. She is five-foot-10. She is fearless off her line. She commands the 18-yard box and instills confidence in her defenders that she will get to the ball first - her quickness and athleticism certainly help in that regard. Cavitt has all the tools to be a top goalkeeper at the college level and beyond. There is an argument to be made she has the highest ceiling among any player in this class.     Goalkeeper for the North Carolina FC Youth 09 ECNL. She was the WPSL South Atlantic Region Goalkeeper of the Year last season. She is five-foot-nine. She has made some outstanding saves in the ECNL this season. Walton has been a key reason for the team being competitive in a challenging division. She's been active in goal with a number of saves. She has strong hands, good diving technique, and decisiveness off her line. Walton's experience in the WPSL is a clear indicator she can hang at the college level already.     Goalkeeper for [program_tooltip program_id='283412' first='NC' last='Fusion']. She lives in Virginia and attends Blacksburg High School. She's been a part of the Virginia ODP team in the past. She previously played her club soccer for Virginia Union in the ECNL RL. She is now the starter on the [program_tooltip program_id='283412' first='NC' last='Fusion'] 2010 ECNL team. She is five-foot-six, right footed. She has quick reflexes and a strong hand. If she gets a finger tip on the ball, she's keeping it out of the net. She's a driven player who constantly works on her craft. The sheer determination and competitiveness makes Dove a top prospect in her position in this class.     Roche is a goalkeeper on the Charlotte Independence 2010 Girls Academy. She was part of the Girls Academy Talent ID event this season. She is five-foot-eight and right footed. Roche is an active goalkeeper who gets her hands on a lot of shots. She does a good job seeing the shot and moving her feet to get under it. She tips a lot of high shots over the bar - shots that would fool a number of goalkeepers. Roche has been a top player in the Girls Academy this season and looks to be a talent for scouts to know heading into the summer.
