It was a beautiful day in Cupertino, CA, at the De Anza College Stadium and soccer field. Aside from having more than seven D1 commits, there were also 10 or more of the top 100 players in California in this match and at least 5 in the top 10 in their position.

https://twitter.com/BayAreaSocScout/status/1906207405874262047

The game was played at a fast and controlled pace. Both sides showed their ability to move the ball from touchline to touchline and make quick counterattacks from the backline. Rage opened up the scoring in the 7th minute as a quick counter started at their 18 with a left back sending it up the line to a winger. The winger watched it bounce twice before lobbing it over to the striker [player_tooltip player_id='111263' first='Olivia' last='Sams']. Sams also waited as the ball bounced a few times before dipping over the goalkeeper before she could make a challenge. It was a really nice textbook style with minimal touches from one end to the other. Sometimes, it is better to have maximum success with minimal touches.

https://twitter.com/BayAreaSocScout/status/1906583353643671795

Other standouts for Rage were [player_tooltip player_id='111313' first='Peyton' last='Hasty'], [player_tooltip player_id='262090' first='Claire' last='Morgan'], [player_tooltip player_id='19218' first='Caelyn' last='Dyer'], and Scarlet Gonzales. Hasty, Morgan, and Dyer played in the middle, but were also seen playing in attacking and defensive roles. Gonzales made some great stops and definitely kept 2–3 goals off the board. They played a relatively close game up until the last 10 minutes of the match.

https://twitter.com/BayAreaSocScout/status/1906211516065714340

Not sure on the Rage side of college commits, but I'm pretty much sure some of them were. I also saw college soccer scouts at the match, with some of them taking closer looks and some possibly getting ready to make offers. Needless to say, a lot of eyes were on this match, and it was rightfully so.

On the Force side, many have already made commitments to D1 programs and soon this roster as well as the Rage roster will be full of D1 and D2 commits. The standouts were [player_tooltip player_id='82617' first='Fiona' last='McCormick'] and [player_tooltip player_id='20128' first='Sahaana' last='Potti'], both of whom have committed to Pepperdine. [player_tooltip player_id='82736' first='Sophia' last='Canepa'] is a Kansas commit, Lauryn Fleshman is going to Cal, and [player_tooltip player_id='19269' first='Chelsea' last='Rogers'] is an Alabama commit.

Canepa, although coming off of an injury and playing at about 80%, did a great job with Rogers and they both held the line after the early goal. Force plays a two-or sometimes three-back formation and the players always keep their form when moving to different areas on the pitch. Both of these players have high-level passing skills and can step into lanes and break down the attack with clean tackles or switching as players make diagonal or overlapping runs. Canepa got the assist on the first Force goal by sending a long pass from distance over the defense to [player_tooltip player_id='82602' first='Abby' last='Nelson'] who sends it to the far side netting.

https://twitter.com/BayAreaSocScout/status/1907629790938673562

The midfield was solid with McCormick and Potti delivering clean passes to wingers and forwards. Their technical abilities are top-notch as they can both maneuver in tight spaces and make quick as well as long ball passes to the attacking third. McCormick uses her size to shake off opponents, facing hard challenges, while Potti is great at finding open pockets and can zip through openings.

One of the sophomore standouts for Force was [player_tooltip player_id='82602' first='Abby' last='Nelson']. I covered one of her high school matches, and she was stellar at the forward position. Nelson also played well in this match. She scored the equalizer goal late in the second half. The winning goal by Force came from a corner kick in the closing minutes of the match to make it a 2-1 Force win.

https://twitter.com/BayAreaSocScout/status/1906946944171438306

Opened up the scoring in the 7th minute as a quick counter started at their 18 with a left back sending it up the line to a winger. The winger watched it bounce twice before lobbing it over to the striker [player_tooltip player_id='111263' first='Olivia' last='Sams']. She waited as the ball bounced a few times before dipping over the goalkeeper before she could make a challenge. She plays club soccer for [program_tooltip program_id='283434' first='Pleasanton' last='Rage'] ECNL.

She played in the midfield and at times pushing up and dropping back.
