The 2025 class is continuing the trend of many of the top talents from this group joining the professional game early. That said, there is reason to believe the potential of the players heading to the college level could be even higher than some that went the other route. The top talent in this class comes from MLS Next, Boys ECNL, US Club Soccer, and the high school game. They've proven they can compete against the best and should be immediate contributors at the next level.

Below is a scouting report on five players who fit the bill of potential star in their rookie season at the college level.

Allen is the top ranked player in the class so it's no surprise there is some lofty expectations for the Stanford-bound forward. He heads to a program that has a rich history of player development -and to a coach who is renowned for his ability to get the most out of his players. Allen should be an ideal fit there - both from a playing style and from a mentality standpoint. He's driven to be the best and will get constantly challenged in training to raise his level. The current Stanford roster is set up perfectly to give Allen ample playing time in his first season (along with a strong midfield to provide service to him).

The other name to watch from the Stanford class is Victor Fung. Stanford head coach Jeremy Gunn said this about Fung recently, "Victor is a Rolls-Royce defender who can calmly shut down opponents with the minimum of fuss."

The UCLA class is something special. Dylan Cantafio and [player_tooltip player_id='148811' first='Francis' last='Bonsu'] are our top ranked players in this recruiting class.

The forward from New York is in the spotlight here. UCLA head coach Ryan Jorden said this about Bonsu, "We did not see a quicker player anywhere in the 2025 recruiting class than Francis."

The excitement of adding a player with Bonsu's pace and skill to the UCLA attack is going to have scouts flocking to Westwood in 2025.

Sevian was the Co-MVP of the High School All-America game, which seems to be overlooked by some but should carry a ton of weight in projecting his future impact. This is a player who steps up as a leader on every team he plays on. Midfield or forward, Sevian will make noise at the next level.

The rest of the Clemson class has some candidates that should jump into the lineup early on in their careers.

Wake Forest continues to be one of the best programs in the country in recruiting and developing talent. The 2025 class combines electrifying talent with players who have already proven their quality against professionals.

Debah is the electrifying talent. A game-breaking, right-footed forward, the Milton Academy standout is sure to be one of the most dangerous players in college soccer this fall. He impressed at the Prep level in 2024 with a number of highlight reel performances including one from last summer against Atletico Madrid. He has the tools to be one of the best attacking talents in college soccer in 2025.

Defenders tend to get overlooked in the standout articles, but Olorunto has been highlighted in every game that Prep Soccer scouts have attended in the past year. The Buckeye is shaping up to be one of the best recruits in Ohio State history. A fluid athlete, excellent defender, and dominant presence on the field, Olorunto has the tools to be a top center back at the college level.
