The overall record for this Lancers squad ended their season at 19-2-1. Finishing as the runners-up this season at the CCS Division I title match against Los Gatos, they put up a great fight while falling in a 4-3 penalty shootout.

Their only other loss of the season came against Buchanan in the opening round of the state Division I opener. Although they did not get the results they wanted, the Lancers accomplished another 19 or more win season and added another WCAL title to the trophy case. Their players led the WCAL in first-team all-stars as well as having the player of the year, Caitlin Motil.

Here are the 2026 WCAL Women's Soccer Players of the Year award winners:

Goalkeeper of the Year - [player_tooltip player_id='199880' first='Layla' last='Tucakovic'] - Junior - Archbishop Mitty - USC commit

Defender of the Year - Caitlin Motil - Senior - Saint Francis - California Baptist University commit

Midfielder of the Year - Kylee Po - Senior - Sacred Heart Cathedral

Forward of the Year - [player_tooltip player_id='20049' first='Penelope' last='Correa'] - Senior - Saint Francis - Saint Mary's commit

Player of the Year - Caitlin Motil - Senior - Saint Francis - California Baptist University commit

2026 WCAL Women's Soccer All League Teams - First Team - Saint Francis Players

Name - School - Year - Position

Caitlin Motil - Saint Francis - Senior - Defender

[player_tooltip player_id='20049' first='Penelope' last='Correa'] - Saint Francis - Senior - Forward

[player_tooltip player_id='111184' first='Sophie' last='McCarthy'] - Saint Francis - Junior - Midfielder

[player_tooltip player_id='19465' first='Grier' last='Gowdy'] - Saint Francis - Junior - Forward

I was fortunate to have covered most of these players during the 2025-2026 season.
