Gianna Jarolimek, SVSA 09 - The center forward for Jarolimek had a gem of a performance against Florida United in the second group game. She didn't get many chances in the first half as Florida United's talented midfield controlled much of the action, but Jarolimek still found ways to impact the game with her effort and defensive work. She was rewarded for her tireless approach with a chance early in the second half. She didn't make any mistake on a chance off a through ball and hit the volley (on a tough turf bounce) into the upper corner of the net. It was a perfect strike from the run of play. Jarolimek showed that she showed be considered among the top No. 9s in the Girls Academy with her play during the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='181729' first='Isabella' last='Ortiz'], Florida United 09 - The results didn't go Florida United's way, but they were still competitive and challenged the opposition in every game. The style of play from Florida United was fluid with open attack among the talented midfielders and creative forwards. Ortiz was the maestro for her side. She was fantastic against SVSA. She orchestrated the attack and was denied from a couple of goals from some splendid last second saves.

[player_tooltip player_id='262642' first='Braidynn' last='Mott'], SVSA 09 - Mott was outstanding against Florida United. She made a few saves that no other player in this group had a chance of making. The SVSA goalkeeper established her place as one of the best in her position with her quick reactions, strong hands, and excellent distribution. Her save early in the second half on a Florida United attack showcased her ability to get down quickly and handle turf-skimming shots like a goalkeeper ready for the next level.

Mal Waldron, [program_tooltip program_id='283706' first='NEFC' last=''] 09 Red - Waldron had a breakout performance during the group stage of the playoffs. The freshman sensation shined bright for her side. She was effective at the high point of the attack. With blistering pace, she put the defense on their heels from the opening whistle. She had a moment in the first half against Alamden that showcased everything that makes her special. She received the ball inside her own half, she turned on her defender with a nifty flick. Facing the opposing goal, she surveyed the options and showed good patience to wait for a teammate to clear out a run before playing her pass to the outside wing for a 1v1 chance on goal. It was a brilliant pass that showed off all the best attributes of her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='286145' first='Paynter' last='Maher'], [program_tooltip program_id='283706' first='NEFC' last=''] 09 Red - Maher is a bright talent in a wide role, usually on the right side. She can play as an outside back or as a winger. There is a future for her in either role. The qualities as a 1v1 defender shined in the game against Almaden. She did well in standing up her mark and keeping her balance. She was physical in the duel and won the ball cleanly consistently. Maher has a good first touch and can spring the attack with her passing or ability to progress the ball up the field on the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='286131' first='Camden' last='Grant'], [program_tooltip program_id='283706' first='NEFC' last=''] 09 Red - Grant and the [program_tooltip program_id='283706' first='NEFC' last=''] squad logged three wins at the event to advance for their group. The goalkeeper was outstanding throughout the event in Southern California. She had a highlight reel showing in the game against Almaden. She showcased secure hands with nabbing a few crosses in traffic. She also came up with the timely saves when needed. Grant is a top-tier goalkeeper and a major reason for [program_tooltip program_id='283706' first='NEFC' last=''] winning their group.

[player_tooltip player_id='233155' first='Keira' last='McMahon'], Galaxy 09 - McMahon is an outside back in a positional definition, but she covers the most ground for a wide player in any game. She is an unstoppable asset on the channel. Endless energy and tireless work ethic are the trademarks of her performnces. She was excellent in group play for Galaxy. She scored the lone goal in the win over LaMorinda SC on a free kick that she played into exactly the right spot to skip past the goalkeeper. I believe she also had an assist in the opening win for Galaxy. She scored on another terrific free kick in the win over Bayside. The right footed player was excellent in defensive commitment too. Her effort to chase down every mark was on full display.

[player_tooltip player_id='233162' first='Mady' last='Czarnik'], Galaxy 09 - The moment that I thought best exemplified Czarnik's game came in the win over Lamorinda in the second half. The defender was in the opposition's 18-yard box for a free kick opportunity. She got on the end of a service from McMahon and put a good effort on frame that required a save. As soon as the goalkeeper had cleanly secured the ball, she sprinted back. Beat anyone else and got back into position for her side to stop any threat of a counter. It was a moment in a game, but the significance was there in a close shutout victory that she will lead with her actions. Sprinting to be there for her team so they stop the opposition again on the way to victory. She showed good composure throughout the game. She did well with intercepting passes and getting into the tackle when required. She's got a bright future.

Lindsay Ingemunson, Galaxy 09 - Ingemunson was another tone-setting for the Galaxy side. When the front line of the attack is so committed to defensive responsibilities and winning their 1v1 duels, it helps set the standard across the team. Ingemunson was a perfect example of this. She battled feverishly against Lamorinda. It was the one game of the event when she didn't score, but her work rate was so impressive that it's hard to argue she wasn't one of the most impactful players on the field. She bodied players off the ball with her strength and showed off her pace with her charging runs at the opposition. She was brilliant and helped lead her team to the next round.

[player_tooltip player_id='153303' first='Ilyana' last='Barriball'], Galaxy 09 - Barriball continues to shine for the Galaxy side. She's a perfect fit for the style of play of the team. She was brilliant in the attacking midfield role against Lamorinda. She shows great tactical intelligence in her movement off the ball. She's moving to open passing lanes for her side. She also has the pace to get in behind the defense and has good anticipation. She also shined as the target forward for her side. Barriball finished the event with three goals and an assist as the leading scorer for her side.

[player_tooltip player_id='194376' first='Jansen' last='Ogren'], SC del Sol - Ogren was once again excellent for her side. She took over the center of the field and forced teams to bypass the midfield. Ogren is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Girls Academy and showed in Norco that she deserves that title. She was a bright spot for her side. Great at reading the play and putting herself in the right spots to impact the game, Ogren is a smart soccer player who was a key reason for her team's success.

Brooklyn St James, SC del Sol - St James was always involved in the build-up leading up to goals for her side. She's got quick feet and excellent skill. She can dribble past defenders with ease and also beat the defense with her vision and passing. St James shined for the SC del Sol attack in the Girls Academy playoffs. [player_tooltip player_id='112245' first='Morgan' last='Bair'], [player_tooltip player_id='284696' first='Addisyn' last='Stam'] and [player_tooltip player_id='112161' first='Rylan' last='Levengood'] were also standouts for the SC del Sol attack.

[player_tooltip player_id='284599' first='Chelsey' last='Tumey'], SC del Sol - Tumey and fellow center back [player_tooltip player_id='170504' first='Ava' last='Rolfes'] have to be perfect with their synergy in the SC del Sol style of play. The two center backs set the high line and play to get the opposition to play into the offside trap. With three wins from three games, the defensive strategy clearly worked. Tumey and Rolfes were brilliant as leaders of the group.

[player_tooltip player_id='276161' first='Lexie' last='Fragnito'], [program_tooltip program_id='276495' first='Syracuse' last='DA'] - Fragnito was the best player of the Group Stage. The center forward, who is already verbally committed to Penn State, was dominant in the victory over Fram. She had a goal and an assist in the opening half. The Southern California squad didn't have an answer for her. She led the attack that scored 11 goals in three games.

[player_tooltip player_id='170726' first='Olivia' last='Jones'], [program_tooltip program_id='276495' first='Syracuse' last='DA'] - Jones was exceptional at center back for Syracuse. Dominant in a variety of ways, Jones controlled the defense and provided the right cover for her team on the way to three wins in group play.

[player_tooltip player_id='170488' first='Abby' last='Scheidelman'], [program_tooltip program_id='276495' first='Syracuse' last='DA'] - Scheudelman bossed the midfield for her SDA team. She was always in the right spots to cut out passes and made quick decisions on the ball. She starred in that role alongside [player_tooltip player_id='169096' first='Madison' last='Truax'].

[player_tooltip player_id='273021' first='Lila' last='Megyesi'], [program_tooltip program_id='283695' first='Michigan' last='Jaguars'] - The center forward for the Jaguars shined bright in the big moments of the final game of group play against [program_tooltip program_id='283764' first='West' last='Florida Flames']. She is a field-stretching speedster up top. She has good skill on the dribble and the ability to finish with either foot. [player_tooltip player_id='273016' first='Kaylah' last='Swirczek'], Lyla Wold, and LilliAnn Morrilll were also standouts for Jaguars.

Ella Kate Johnson, Louisiana TDP - Johnson, the Louisiana Gatorade State Player of the Year, lived up to the hype at the Girls Academy event. The attacking midfielder had a number of key passes for her side. She is a focal point of the attack for her team. She knows her role well and shines in that position.

Skylar Baptiste, Louisiana TDP - The winger for Louisiana TDP scored the lone goal for her side in the 1-1 draw on Sunday that clinched the spot in the next round. She has excellent pace and good skill. Her goal was a delightful touch on a cross to push the ball past the outrushing goalkeeper. Baptiste has the qualities in the final third to be a difference-maker at the next level.

Alayna Voung, [program_tooltip program_id='283739' first='SC' last='Wave'] - An underrated part of the game of a forward or any attacking player is how they use their body when there is a defender nearby. Voung had a perfect example of the proper technique in the win over Reign Academy. She, quite a bit undersized compared to her defender, beat the player to the spot with her pace and then showed remarkable strength to hold the defender off while laying it off to [player_tooltip player_id='290314' first='Madonna' last='Helf'] for the opening goal. She later scored a goal of her own off an assist from Maricella Rivera. Maya Staples and Makayla Flath were also standouts for [program_tooltip program_id='283739' first='SC' last='Wave'].

[player_tooltip player_id='149753' first='Ella' last='Vaughn'], St. Louis Development Academy - Vaughn is a skillful midfielder who can do it all.
