COPA TALENT ID DAY | 2011-2008 Best XI – Part 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>USE THE PROMO CODE almasin30 for a discount on your first subscription</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The COPA ID DAY on July 23, 2025, was again a top-notch event offering high-level players opportunities to showcase their skill sets and teamworking abilities, as well as correlating them to their COPA assessment score. This is part 2 of the series. The featured players are #6 - #11. The order is based on their COPA score from highest to lowest.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The COPA assessment score was one of the main criteria for getting an invite to this prestigious event. The COPA score is data driven and based on a series of technical, physical, and cognitive tests. It involves assessments on agility, jumping agility, sprint speed, ball control, passing accuracy, awareness, reaction time, and other key elements.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>80 female players were invited to the event, with the top 11 chosen based on their skill sets and playing ability. As mentioned in Part 1, the level of competition from this age group was clearly at a much higher level as compared to the March event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The format for the live assessments was 4 quarters of 20 minutes. Coaches would be able to place players in their natural playing positions, while in some cases players saw action at secondary or other positions. The many scouts were on hand to evaluate their talents and compare them to their COPA assessment score ranging from top-level colleges to professional organizations, as well as scouts from the USYNT. Stepped into lanes to cut-off runners making diagonal runs to the box. She made accurate passes to the mid and channels, while playing with a good pace. Her strength was staying calm under pressure. She scanned well in what seemed to be a crowded midfield. Has the ability to create plays in the mid and make runs in the channels. She also made clean challenges and tracked back for win-backs. Her dribbling and ball handling skills are top level. Avery was selected to the U16 US Soccer Talent ID Center in 2025 as well as being on the U15 ODP National team in 2024. She played primarily in the mid, but excelled as a box-to-box player. On the defensive side, she made clean tackles and made quick passes for counter attacks. She can move up and down the channels and make slashing runs to the box for high percentage scoring opportunities. This is possibly my 4th evaluation of her and I believe she scored in every one of those matches. Her ability to apply high pressure caused turnovers which resulted in scoring opportunities. Speed and quickness are some of her strengths. Her great positioning allowed her to get good angles to cut-off runners in the box or to limit shooting angles. She anticipates well and was the most consistent goalkeeper at the event.
