Girl’s College Commitment Scout Grades Chapter 32

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A lot of big names have come off the board recently. It's been really difficult to keep up with all of this! A lot of film is watched. I do my absolute best.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have to give a big shout out to @ImYouthSoccer Instagram page for keeping up with these names flying off the board. Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments mean nothing until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years. Many without even going on a visit to the school. Is this a good thing for the programs and the players? Only time will tell.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent commitments. Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. If you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schoolers do what you have the opportunity to do. These grades are based on overall fit, style of play/positional need of that particular program, how the program is doing this season and if I believe the commitment will last 4-5 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also encourage players to make their highlight reel easy to access for scouts to evaluate as possible on your social media profiles. She can play center back/right back at a high level, is very calm/sensible in possession, and seems to fit the style that the Highlanders like to play. She is a Center Back/Defensive Midfielder combo player. She is excellent at breaking lines and starting the attack. Defensively she is an outstanding reader of play predicting what the opposition is going to do. The Gael's haven't had a great season thus far at 2-8-2. Calabro has the potential to make an impact for this program as soon as she gets there. She is a Stillwater High School standout headed to a program that has had a decent season thus far sitting at 4-5-2. Van Den Berg is an Indy 11 standout defender who is outstanding in the air. She will certainly be asked to utilize that ability in a very direct conference. The Tigers are 4-6-1 this season with an outside chance of making the NCAA Tournament. She is a solid central midfielder who covers a lot of ground and is very disruptive defensively. Coming from an excellent club in Slammers as well as spending time with So Cal Blues and Legends Park has excellent club pedigree. She is headed to a Ramblers squad who have done quite well for themselves this season at 6-3-2 with every possibility to make the NCAA Tournament.
