ECNL Phoenix Standouts Day 2

Another great day to play some footy today at Reach 11 Sports Complex. There was a little rain mid day but other than that the morning was sunny and the hottest temperature throughout the day was around 80 degrees. Some excellent matchups took place with some big time clubs and players playing against each other. Here are some players whom I thought had great games today.    Hall had a great showing for MVLA today against Eclipse in a 3-0 win. Her hold up play was excellent and she has a deceptive burst of speed for such a tall player. She has a ton of upside and I don't think she will stay uncommitted for long. She has an athletic profile that will thrive at the next level.     The reigning ECNL Player of the Year showed why she is committed to a top Illinois program. She had an excellent assist on a corner that was put right in the danger area to be headed home. Her touch and vision are big strengths of hers as well as finding pockets of space to operate.     It seems at every one of these events Chinyadza is impossible to ignore. She scored a good goal for her Hawks side today on their way to a victory of Legends. Her ability to dribble past defenders is a sight to behold. She combines elite speed with excellent technique and instincts.     I took a tip from a collegiate coach friend of mine that I had to go watch this kid. He was right. The Concorde Fire striker is a phenomenal talent. She scored twice against [program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf'] today to help her side to a 4-1 win. She has elite athleticism and presence of mind when she's on the ball. She can weave through traffic and rip an incredibly powerful shot. Big time future.     Rivera scored twice today against [program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf'] in a 4-1 win. She is an absolute load and extremely difficult to handle for any defense. She torched the [program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf'] defense as she can beat you with power and/or finesse. Not surprising to see her ranked so highly in the state of Georgia. She will be verbally committing to a Power 4 program without a doubt.     Royal had an excellent game against the Michigan Hawks in a 2-1 win. She held down the middle of the park with poise and grit for her Surf team. Her ability to not only pull the strings offensively but her hustle and physicality on defense really impressed.     Nguyen had an awesome assist on a free kick which she won that she whipped into a great area for her teammate to head home. The Texas A&M commit is a top player and is always a fun watch. She glides with the ball at her feet on the dribble and is excellent in possession combining. Not shy to take on players 1 v 1 either and takes advantage of any opportunity to do so usually coming out on top.     White scored her sides only goal against San Diego Surf in a 2-1 loss. She was a very reliable link between the defensive line and attacking lines. She checks her shoulder like a seasoned pro and is an excellent destroyer of play defensively. Not surprised to see her ranked so highly in Michigan.     The Rapids attacking player scored both of her teams goals in a 2-1 win against San Juan. She was a nuisance to deal with all game and looked dangerous throughout the game. Positive Rapids attacks seem to go through her way in some shape or form.     This is the second time that Goodballet has caught my eye in the past year. She has an amazing profile as she is super athletic and long. Her technique is much improved since the last time I saw her and it seems to me that she is well on her way to receiving some big time offers come June 15th of next year.     Canada had an impressive outing today against Slammers HBK. Her technique is absolutely sublime. Her move library is vast and really loves a Maradonna. She can create something out of very little and I am not surprised she is headed to Notre Dame next year.     Gonzalez had a big time outing in helping her Slammers side to a 3-1 win against Michigan Hawks. On another day the Hawks could have won this one 5-3 if not for Gonzalez she came up big for her team time and time again.     Marinos scored twice for Slammers today in a 3-1 win against an excellent Hawks side. Her first was an excellent finish that she hit with her left foot right into the top left corner of the goal from just inside the 18. The second goal came on a lovely through ball that she got on the end of where she calmly rounded the keeper to a straightforward finish. She has speed and skill that she will be taking to Stanford next year.     Against a very good XF Academy side Osifodunrin was outstanding in helping her side post a shutout and come away with a 2-0 win. The reigning national champions Real Colorado owe a lot of their success their All-World center back Georgia commit. She reads the game so well and seems to be first to every ball in her vicinity. Excellent speed and awareness as well. Top player with a bright future.     The Santa Clara commit was flying around out there today against the defending national champions Real Colorado. She made a couple of incredible slide tackles and well timed blocks. She even played a bit of center forward towards the end when XF were pushing for an equalizer. She is a fearless, hard-nosed competitor who is going to have an excellent collegiate career.     Coming from quite the soccer family with both older sisters having very successful careers thus far with Nya playing all four years at Stanford and now with the San Diego Wave while her other sister Ava is currently in her freshmen season at Stanford. Mia is quite the player in her own right. She scored an excellent volley tonight against Indy 11 helping her side to a 3-1 win. She has excellent speed and is very deceptive on the ball using a lot of hesitation moves to create space for her next action.     The Stanford commit has had a great weekend thus far. Scoring a great goal yesterday and getting another one today. She can bail out her backline when they have the ball with her ability to run in behind. If the possession breaks down you always know she is up there and wanting to get a ball played over the top. She can smack a ball with real venom and just like most players coming through the [program_tooltip program_id='283641' first='De' last='Anza Force'] academy is excellent in possession.     Tiny little thing but my oh my is she fast and skilled. She scored a good goal against a tough [program_tooltip program_id='283641' first='De' last='Anza Force'] defense. Her low center of gravity gives her the ability to change direction and decelerate faster than anyone else on the field. You pair that with fast twitch muscle fibers you get a really talented and effective soccer player.
