Nguyen had an awesome assist on a free kick which she won that she whipped into a great area for her teammate to head home. The Texas A&M commit is a top player and is always a fun watch. She glides with the ball at her feet on the dribble and is excellent in possession combining. Not shy to take on players 1 v 1 either and takes advantage of any opportunity to do so usually coming out on top.

The former ECNL Player of the Year is headed to the SEC and the Texas A&M Aggies in 2027. The Aggies are going to have one of if not the best midfields in the country with Nguyen’s commitment. I think this is a great choice for the San Diego Surf product as I am sure she had offers from just about everyone. But the style of play and a higher chance of playing time makes this an excellent fit.

Nguyen’s silky dribbling and clever passing was not enough to get the win for her Surf side but she stood out immensely even in defeat. There were times where she would get past two players masterfully only for the third player to either block her shot or cross.

Nguyen did not move many spots, but she is worth mentioning because she moved to the No. 2 player in the class. She is a phenomenal forward. Her understanding of the nuance of the position is not something that is taught. She understands the position in all ways. She knows how to make runs, how to time them, what space to occupy and that says nothing of her ball skills. She’s fantastic technically, she’s got great speed and vision, and her ability to finish is next level.

Great showing for this young star. Her passion and leadership qualities are a sight to behold. She led the line at center forward for this her team exceptionally. Not only scoring but getting her teammates involved all the way to another San Diego Surf National Championship. The clubs 3^rd this year. She is a certainty to be heavily recruited by schools from across the country.

Nguyen proved her quality as one of the best players in the country during this event. The Surf forward can score in a variety of ways – and showed that for her side in Washington. Nguyen’s goal scoring was the focal point of her success, but the speed and burst she showed on the ball revealed why this is a player with professional game potential.
