Girls Verbal College Commitments Scout Grades

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A lot of big names have come off the board recently. It's been really difficult to keep up with all of this! A lot of film is watched. I do my absolute best.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have to give a big shout out to @ImYouthSoccer Instagram page for keeping up with these names flying off the board. Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments mean nothing until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process. It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years. Many without even going on a visit to the school. Is this a good thing for the programs and the players? Only time will tell.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent verbal commitments. Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. Please keep in mind, if you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schooler do what you have the opportunity to do. These grades are based on overall fit, style of play/positional need of that particular program, how the program is doing this season and if I believe the commitment will last 4-5 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also encourage players to make their highlight reel easy to access for scouts to evaluate on your social media profiles. The Tigers tend to recruit their state at a very high level and Heimerl seems to fit that trend. Couldn't find much film on her but this program has had an excellent start to league play and sit at 6-2-2 so far this season. They have struggled against the bigger programs which is to be expected. She certainly looks the part of a division 1 center back as she is tall, lean and a fluid mover. Couldn't find much film on her but I have heard from trusted sources she will need to improve technically and her game IQ/positioning as she gets closer to the next level. The Redhawks remain undefeated this season at 4-0-4 and have every possibility to make the NCAA Tournament. The Trojans have had a rather soft schedule thus far and are 5-3-1. I think the Trojans program could be an excellent springboard for Conlon to transfer up after a season or two. The Aggies are going to have one of if not the best midfields in the country with Nguyen's commitment. I think this is a great choice for the San Diego Surf product as I am sure she had offers from just about everyone. Holliday is a top 5 defender out of New York for a reason. They say the left footed center back is the hardest position to find in soccer and she is just that. She wins just about every header that comes her way, and is excellent in possession. Pushes into midfield on the dribble at a high level. She is a brave and athletic keeper with good size/length. She has strong distribution and claims balls in the air extremely well. She will definitely be seeing a lot of action as the Bulldogs are 2-8-1 and leaking a lot of goals.
