2027 Prep Soccer Recruits: Powerhouses Dominate, Sleepers Rising

With the avalanche of verbal commitments in the past few weeks, most of the top ranked players in the Prep Soccer 2027 National Rankings have made their pick for college. As of September 15, only two players in the top 10 remain uncommitted. And only five in the top 50. 

Texas, Stanford, and UCLA each landed two verbal commitments from players ranked in the top 10 of the Prep Soccer National Player Rankings for the 2027 Girls Class. Those three programs lead the way among the strongest classes for this group. 

UCLA currently has seven verbal commitments from players in the Prep Soccer 2027 National Rankings. Mia Corona Mia Corona 5'4" | M Santa Margarita | 2027 State #4 Nation CA is the top ranked prospect. The Legends FC midfielder should be a perfect fit for the style of play that the Bruins are known for. San Diego Surf and Mexico Youth National Team star Citlalli Reyes Citlalli Reyes M State #5 Nation CA is the other top rated player headed to Westwood in two seasons. 

Stanford has six verbal commitments from players in the Prep Soccer 2027 National Rankings. XF Academy center back Vienna Whipple is the top ranked player headed to Palo Alto. The defender is fresh off a stellar season at the club level that included ECNL Conference Player of the Year and ECNL Conference Cup Player of the Week. San Diego Surf goalkeeper Brooke S Volpp Brooke S Volpp 5'10" | GK Cathedral Catholic | 2027 State #3 Nation CA is the other top ranked player in this class. She's one of the players who reclassified from the 2028 class to join this group. She's the top ranked goalkeeper from this class. 

Texas has five verbal commitments from players in the Prep Soccer National Rankings. So Cal Blues goalkeeper and multi-sport athlete Kai Beary Kai Beary 6'1" | GK JSerra Catholic | 2027 State #6 Nation CA is the ranked player in that class. She is one of the highest ranked goalkeepers in the class and one of the top players from California - a huge get for the Longhorns. Solar midfielder and Dallas Trinity playmaker Caroline Swann Caroline Swann M Allegiance Academy | 2027 State #9 Nation TX is the other highly ranked prospect in the Texas class. 

Some sneaky programs on the rise in this recruiting class include Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Kansas, and Florida. Each of these programs have two players ranked in the top 50. Kendall Conway Kendall Conway M State #27 Nation CA and Elena Vera Elena Vera M/D State #37 Nation CA are the verbal commits for Wake Forest. Sandra O'Neill and Gabrielle Smith are the top ranked verbal commits for Vanderbilt. Rachel Lawless-Felarca Rachel Lawless-Felarca 5'4" | D Richardson | 2027 State #24 Nation TX and Jacy Hackler are the top ranked verbal commits for Kansas. Cali Smith and Molly McBride Molly McBride 5'9" | GK Vista Del Lago | 2027 State #43 Nation CA are the top ranked verbal commits for Florida. 

Penn State, Notre Dame, Duke, and UNC are four of the other programs in contention for the top spot in the overall rankings. Penn State has five commits from players in the top 60 of the Prep Soccer National Rankings for the 2027 class. Goalkeeper Annie Fowler (the No. 8 overall recruit) is the top ranked player. 

Notre Dame also has four commits from players in the top 60 of the Prep Soccer National Rankings for the 2027 class. U.S. Youth National Team defender Bristol Kersh is the top ranked player in that class. ECNL Conference Cup leading scorer Lily Jeakle is also a highly ranked recruit headed to South Bend. 

Duke has six verbal commitments from players in the top 125 of the Prep Soccer National Rankings for the 2027 class. Emmy O'Donnell is the top ranked player heading to Duke in this class. 

North Carolina has five verbal commitments from players in the top 150 of the Prep Soccer National Rankings for the 2027 class. Amari Manning is the top ranked player heading to Chapel Hill. Recent commit Marin Kotschau is a huge addition to that class for the Tar Heels.
