College Commitments Scout Grades

Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments mean nothing until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process. It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years. Many without even going on a visit to the school. Is this good thing for the programs and the players? Only time will tell.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent verbal commitments. Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. Please keep in mind, if you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schooler do what you have the opportunity to do. She joins a Lobos side that is having a fantastic season thus far. The center back comes from a very good Legends team and heads to a program with a very good defensive record this season. The Bulls are 3-4-0 so far this season and will be delighted with Nicholson's commitment. She comes from the juggernaut that is Saint Louis Scott Gallagher who have produced talent after talent. I do have climate concerns coming across the country from Carolina to Seattle but if that can be overcome this looks like a great fit. Capps is a dynamic striker who can score and create. She is a Canadian international and has a rare athletic profile that is built to last at the division 1 level. She is definitely a project and will need to improve technically and tactically but has an extremely high ceiling. The Fighting Illini are flying this season at 7-0-0 and have only let in 1 goal. She is a long athletic playmaker who will definitely need to bulk up a little bit to handle the load of the division 1 game. She is solid technically and has an excellent engine. Thompson has all the tools to be success at the division 2 level. The Jessup Womens soccer team definitely has some work to do in building their program as they are not ranked and have only played twice so far this season and only have 16 games total on their schedule which is lightest load I have ever seen.
