Top Player at Every Position in Michigan 2029 Rankings

<p>The Prep Soccer state rankings for Michigan's 2029 class will be released next week. Prior to the release of the rankings, check out a scouting report on the top ranked player in each position group. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">GOALKEEPER </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Popov is a goalkeeper on the [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] 2011 ECNL team. She has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. She's a tall, athletic shot-stopper with excellent instincts for the position. She's quick to get on the ball and does a terrific job at moving her feet to keep her body behind the shot. She is fearless off her line. Popov has the potential to be one of the top goalkeepers in the country. </p>    <p></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">OUTSIDE BACK</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Bainbridge is an outside back on the [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] 2011 ECNL team. She can play right back or left back. She is equally as good in either spot. She is a tall player with a long stride. She uses her body well to hold off attacking players. She has been identified as a top talent in the region and called into US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. She was a standout for her side during the ECNL playoffs last season. She is a two-way player who gets up and down the touchline and can hit in a great cross. Bainbridge has the tools to be a top level defender in this class. </p>    <p></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">CENTER BACK</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Kann is a center back on the Michigan Hawks 2011 ECNL. She was part of the US Soccer Central Region U14 Girls National Team camp earlier this year. She's the top ranked defender in the class. Kann is a right center back for her club team. She is a well-rounded prospect. An excellent 1v1 defender, great organizer, and possesses elite attributes as a passer. Kann is easily one of the best passing center backs in this class on a national level. She can ping a ball with accuracy and pace. She's well-coached and acts like a coach on the field as you will often see that she is leading her teammates with her pass to give them a clear indication on where to go with the ball next. She is also a weapon on set pieces. She scored a wonderful header recently against KC Athletics in ECNL play. She is going to be a top talent in this game for a long time. </p>    <p></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">CENTER MIDFIELDER/DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Blewett is a midfielder on the Michigan Hawks 2010 ECNL team. She is a do-it-all type of midfielder. She was excellent during the ECNL playoffs last season and proved her quality against the top talent in the nation. She's been off to a hot start this season. She is a brilliant player who orchestrates the game for her team. She's sharp on the ball with accurate passes and a great first touch. Blewett is a key contributor on the best team in the 2010 age group in the country. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Janz is listed as a forward/midfielder on the Michigan Hawks 2011 roster. She is playing as more of a defensive midfielder/box-to-box midfielder at the start of the season. She's excellent in that role. Sharp in the tackle, covers a ton of ground, and reads the game well. She has a great first touch and can play with a defender on her back. Janz is incredibly valuable to her team in the build-up as she can hold off pressure and makes good decisions on the ball. Her corner kick delivery is among the best in the ECNL. She has elevated her game this season and should be viewed as one of the top talents in the ECNL. </p>    <p></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">ATTACKING MIDFIELDER</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Tokrri is a midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='283695' first='Michigan' last='Jaguars'] 2011 Girls Academy team. She was part of the US Soccer U14 Girls Central Region Talent ID event earlier this year. She was also named to the Girls Academy National Talent ID roster over the summer. She was one of two players from Michigan included in both - Lily Albertson was the other. She did not take part in the National Talent ID event as her team qualified for [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last='']. She's a terrific playmaker in the center of the field. Lightning quick feet, willing runner, and clean touch on the ball. Tokrri has the quality to be an international level player in the 2011 age group. </p>    <p></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">WINGER </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Frye is a winger (or midfielder) on the [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] 2011 ECNL team. She is an excellent dribbler. She has the quality to go at defenders off either foot. She keeps close control of the ball and does well keeping defenders off balance with body feints. She has unique attributes as a winger, which has made her one of the most electrifying wide attacking talents in this class. Frye has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past and looks to be a top name to know in the future. </p>    <p></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">FORWARD </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='332143' first='Blair' last='Bickerstaff'] is a forward/midfielder on the Michigan Hawks 2011 team. She can play as a support striker, center forward, or winger. She is a star in any role. Bickerstaff has been excellent at the start of the season. She's dynamic on the ball and difficult for defenders to stop in the open field. She's been one of the most entertaining players to watch at the start of the ECNL season. She's been fouled as much as any player in the league. Her burst of pace and elusiveness on the ball should be getting the attention of Youth National Team scouts this season. </p>    <p></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">CENTER FORWARD </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Willoughby is a forward on the [program_tooltip program_id='283695' first='Michigan' last='Jaguars'] 2011 Girls Academy team. She was part of the Girls Academy Midwest Talent ID event last season. She was a key player on her club team, which finished as one of the best in the Nation in the Girls Academy last season. Willoughby is a center forward. She's strong on the ball and has a quick shot. She was outstanding during the playoffs last season, and finished as the top scorer in her age group. There is so much potential to her game as well. She is an impact player in multiple ways in the final third. Her passing is exception for the No. 9 spot. Willoughby's competitiveness sets her apart and made her one of the best in her position over the last year. </p>    <p></p>
