The 2025 Washington State Girls HS season has officially begun, and it is time to dig into the second part of our Top 4A Leagues preview!

Let's take a look at the other big leagues in the PNW that are going to be in the mix come District and State Playoffs in November!

Big 9 4A:

The Wenatchee Panthers will look to dominate the Big 9 once again this season. Their undefeated 12-0 record made them the most feared matchup in the league last season. Forward, [player_tooltip player_id='319449' first='Logan' last='Grosdidier'] and midfielder, [player_tooltip player_id='319448' first='Berkeley' last='Boles'] will continue to keep that fear instilled in the hearts and minds of the Big 9. After winning the District 5 Championship, they had an unfortunate early exit in the State Tourney. That should motivate them to go for their 4th straight District Title in 2025. If there is a team to push the Panthers this season, it will be West Valley (Yakima). The Rams have 10 Seniors that will be available to contribute this season. Age and experience are always a plus when games matter down the stretch. The 8-4 record in league play last year should improve and players like midfielders, [player_tooltip player_id='319442' first='Avah' last='Farias'] and [player_tooltip player_id='319443' first='Alexi' last='Jaramillo'] will need to lead the way.

GSL (Greater Spokane) 4A:

There are only 4 teams in the GSL that have a 4A classification and 2 of them are the clear leaders at this point. Gonzaga Prep and Lewis & Clark have led the way for years and will continue to battle this season. Gonzaga Prep did drop a game versus a 3A league opponent but went undefeated versus their 4A counterparts to secure a GSL Title in 2024. The Bullpups will lean on their defense with [player_tooltip player_id='140908' first='McKenna' last='Litscher'] and GK [player_tooltip player_id='161896' first='Amelia' last='Pielli'] to build off their past successes in 2025. Lewis & Clark are on the heels of Prep and are looking to dethrone them. Stacked with Senior talent, the Tigers are in a position to make a run at League, Districts and the State Tourney! Forward [player_tooltip player_id='140945' first='Keegan' last='Tee'] and midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='140188' first='Molly' last='Heinen'] will push their squad to be elite and make every pass, cross and shot count.

GSHL (Greater St. Helens) 4A:

The leader of the GSHL is none other than the Skyview Storm. The 5-0-1 record last season in league play speaks for itself but the 13-2-3 overall record versus competition up and down the I-5 corridor was impressive. The Storm will have returners like forward/midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='319456' first='Reese' last='Harrison'] and 2024's Defensive Player of the Year, GK [player_tooltip player_id='319457' first='Brynnlee' last='Williams'] to keep their teams consistently in the win column. Camas is another juggernaut in the GSHL that plays top competition throughout the region and is always a team to circle on the schedule. The Papermakers went 4-2 in league and 10-8-1 overall. Those records are old news and with [player_tooltip player_id='319470' first='Paige' last='Curl'] roaming the midfield and GK, [player_tooltip player_id='319471' first='Natalie' last='Grajeda'] in net, Camas has an opportunity to make a deep run.

Kingco 4A:

The Kingco league is separated into two leagues that mix classifications from 2A-4A. It is one of the biggest and most competitive leagues in Washington State. Sitting atop Kingco are two powerhouses, Skyline and Woodinville. Their combined league record of 15-1-6, had them handling their league opponent's last season with ease. I am certain the very talented schools of Bellevue, Liberty (Renton) and Mount Si will have something to say about that this season. Woodinville took the League Title last season beating Skyline in the Kingco Tourney Championship game, but Skyline didn't have to wait long for payback. They beat Woodinville for the District Title ... 11 days later. If you look up 'rivals' in the dictionary, you may see these two teams pictured. Though both teams lost stellar talent to big time college programs, they still have impressive athletes up and down their respective rosters.

Skyline will be introducing their newest freshman, midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='271605' first='Giorgia' last='Roni'] into the mix this year who has roots in the program. Her older sister, Ashley Roni, was a standout at Skyline and currently plays for Alabama. Senior Captains, [player_tooltip player_id='28134' first='Celia' last='Hulst'] and [player_tooltip player_id='140944' first='Arya' last='Oskouian'] will continue to dominate on the pitch as the Spartans navigate through the season. Woodinville may be favored for the Kingco League Title once again this year, but their sights will be focused on something greater. The District Title and the State Championship that slipped through their hands last season will be their #1 mission. With collegiate talent like defenders [player_tooltip player_id='28304' first='Lucy' last='Wimsatt'], [player_tooltip player_id='111352' first='Madison' last='Deal'] and [player_tooltip player_id='28468' first='Zoey' last='Lavezzi'] locking down the backline and dangerous attacking players like [player_tooltip player_id='163894' first='Caitlin' last='Chapko'] and [player_tooltip player_id='28258' first='Kaya' last='Tanaka'], WHS will be tough to beat in 2025. Watch for Bellevue's [player_tooltip player_id='28400' first='Saleen' last='Koszorus'], [player_tooltip player_id='279636' first='Lola' last='Paget'] and [player_tooltip player_id='279246' first='Magdalene' last='Peters'] to have big seasons and help push Bellevue into the conversation. Lastly, Mount Si and Issaquah are sleeping giants and when healthy, they can hang with the best of them. The Wildcats, [player_tooltip player_id='28044' first='Alexa' last='Newman'] should continue her dominance up top and with Mount Si's slew of top notch GK's in [player_tooltip player_id='124864' first='Emily' last='Jenkins'], [player_tooltip player_id='111549' first='Natalie' last='Gram'] and [player_tooltip player_id='111379' first='Rowan' last='Staponski'], the competition will have difficulty scoring goals. Issaquah did not have the record they wanted to have in 2024 but with athletes like midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='161954' first='Linsey' last='Craw'] and forward [player_tooltip player_id='274179' first='Alexis' last='Eng'], Issaquah has a chance to shock the world. This league is going to be non-stop battling from start to finish!

Metro 4A:

There is only one team with a 4A classification in the Metro League and that is Lincoln (Seattle). The Lynx were 5-1-3 in league play last season with an overall record of 9-7-5. They play great competition that have very skilled athletes but that doesn't stop them from beating some of the top teams in the region on any given matchday. All-League standout, [player_tooltip player_id='319513' first='Natalie' last='Kelly'] should put on a show for her Senior season and give the Lynx a chance to shine.
