Girl’s College Commitments Scout Grades Chapter 45

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Congratulations to all who have made their commitments. Now it's time for a scout grade. Some will be happy, others might be pissed off and eager to prove me wrong.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have to give a big shout out to @ImYouthSoccer Instagram page for keeping up with these names flying off the board. Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments are not official until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent commitments. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. If you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schoolers do what you have the opportunity to do. These grades are based on overall fit, style of play/positional need of that particular program, how the program is performing and if I believe the commitment will last 4-5 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also encourage players to make their highlight reels easy to access for scouts to evaluate on their social media platforms. She has a high soccer IQ and can dribble or pass around defenders with high efficiency. She is a Beach FC talent who can play anywhere along the front line. As a program the Bears are 8-2-4 this season and have a good chance of winning the Ivy League as long as they keep winning. She is a physical Defender who is excellent at dribbling into space and facilitating when on the ball. Tough as nails and really strong in the tackle. She has an excellent engine and will make plays all over the field. I would like to see her improve on he technical side before she arrives on campus. Although the Cyclones have struggled this season I really like what they have done in recruitment this year. She's a big target striker who can hold the ball up extremely well, she has elite footwork to create space and advance the ball to her wingers. If Thomas gets service into the box she is a lethal finisher with an excellent shot. I think the biggest room for improvement is her linear speed before she arrives on campus. As a program the Griffins sit at .500 this year with their only chance of qualifying for the NCAA Tournament coming at the end of the season and winning the CAA Tournament to get an automatic bid. Also a track star Wickman has elite speed and athleticism. As a program this season GW is 4-8-4 I think Wickman helps this program as soon as she gets on campus as I think she has the potential to be a power 4 talent. Sacek is a physical, athletic, all-action central midfielder who projects to be very successful at the division 1 level. She's an excellent ball winner and very dependable in possession. The Cowgirls have had a solid season thus far at 7-4-5 and just got a big commitment here with a top 20 talent from Illinois. The CESA product is an absolute force in the air getting on the end of a ton of set pieces and crosses. She definitely needs to improve technically to truly thrive at the next level but she has an excellent athletic profile that I would project to do very well for the Mountain Hawks. Having a season to forget at 3-8-3 the Patriot League outfit will be looking to improve next season. The Buffs have had an awesome season thus far at 11-2-3 and currently ranked #22 in the country. If they can string a couple more wins together they look like a shoe-in for the NCAA Tournament.
