Albion were able to keep the Dynamo scoreless until the 33rd minute of the first half, when forward [player_tooltip player_id='295641' first='Aariz' last='Syed'] got the rebound of a shot from midfielder Eduardo Iglesias and sent the ball into the back of the net. In the 40th minute, the home team doubled its lead, with defender Seeyad Hasnine assisting Iglesias, who scored with a low shot.

The Dynamo got their first second-half goal in the third minute, when midfielder Ryu Roberts fed fellow midfielder Imisi Amodu on the left and went into the box to get on the end of his cross. Ryu was also involved in the team's fourth goal, scored in the 11th minute, sending a free kick into the box, which Albion defender Santiago Guzman headed into his own net. In the 21st minute, Syed got his second in the match, following up on a header and getting the rebound almost under the post to tap it in.

Goal number six was scored in the 29th minute by Amodu, who sent an in-swing cross into the box from the left and saw the ball cross the box and go into the low corner. In the next minute, the Dynamo won the ball just outside Albion's box and midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='341676' first='Dyland' last='Cardenas'] scored. Another one came right next, with Ryu taking a free kick into the box and defender Manuel Vasquez scoring off a header. Defender Ryland Rios got the Dynamo's ninth and last goal in the 35th minute, getting his head on the ball after multiple deflections following a corner kick.

With the victory, the Dynamo continue at the top of the MLS Next League Frontier Division standings with nine wins, one loss and one tie. Albion are eighth with four wins and four losses.

Iglesias was pivotal in the Dynamo's great performance, getting heavily involved in everything the team did on the field. The center midfielder was everywhere on the field, covering a lot of ground and getting more touches than any other player. Iglesias was a centerpiece in the team's offensive system, on some occasions dropping back to get the ball from the center backs to initiate plays and then getting involved again in the attacking half a few seconds later. He had a very clean game from a technical standpoint, making very few errors, and was directly involved in the first two goals, which paved the way for the Dynamo's comfortable victory.

Syed started the game on the left side of the Dynamo's attack and made some good plays there, but became much more dangerous when he moved to the striker role. Always well-positioned inside the box, he scored twice by picking up rebounds and sending the ball into the back of the net. The forward diversified well in his game up top, at times making runs at defenders and, on other occasions, combining with his teammates. Syed had a few more good chances to score, most of which were in plays he created for himself, and saw a powerful shot hit the outside of the post in the second half.

The talented midfielder had a major role in the Dynamo's offense and was directly involved in at least four of the team's nine goals. Ryu roamed very intelligently in the final third and used his impressive ball control to take defenders off the dribble out wide and his vision to find excellent passes when operating more centrally. The goal he scored was a good reflection of his complete performance, as he helped set the play up and got into the box to finish it. Ryu was also very accurate and efficient with his set-piece deliveries, generating two goals from free kicks.

Albion put up a good fight for most of the first half, when, besides keeping the Dynamo scoreless, they also tried to hit in transition. That's when Skillern and fellow center back Michael Vasquez stepped up and did a great job of stopping their plays. The two thrived with their excellent positioning and were very efficient at making interceptions. Skillern also made two very impressive defensive plays in 1v1 duels, timing his tackle extremely well and getting very clean touches on the ball to come out with it in what could have been good chances for the Colorado team. The center back also did solid work on the ball, showing composure to connect passes out of the back.

Amodu came off the bench during the first half, and the Dynamo managed to raise their level with him on the left side of the midfield. He connected very well with the team's left back, providing solid support on defense, and also made a big impact on offense, combining with his teammates and attacking the space out wide. Amodu made an excellent run to get on the ball and assist Ryu for the team's third goal, and got his own later, when a good cross attempt went it.
