A vocal leader and composed defender, Roddick brings both grit and polish to the back line and is expected to make an immediate impact at the high school level as she enters her freshman year. Her Surf Cup performance also drew praise from a highly respected professional coach with multiple ECNL national championships, who highlighted her elite athleticism, work rate, and professional-level composure - Looking forward to seeing her in our next rankings update.

Sydney's Highlights

https://www.instagram.com/p/DQA13UcEXcK/?hl=en

[player_tooltip player_id='299678' first='Maddie' last='Suguitan'] - 2029 - [program_tooltip program_id='288729' first='LA' last='[program_tooltip program_id='283623' first='Breakers' last='FC'] ECNL'] - Forward/Defender - WL in CA and WL in Position - High School: Mira Costa

She recently had success as her team almost came home with a title at the ECRL National Championship Final in Virginia in July. Madison Suguitan is bringing that fire directly into her ECNL debut—and she's not slowing down. A lightning-fast, left-footed attacker, Suguitan is a constant threat in the final third with the ability to stretch defenses, take defenders on 1v1, and deliver precision crosses on the move. She plays with intensity and intelligence, always head up, scanning for the next pass, run, or shot. Her pace alone gives opposing back lines trouble, but it's her quick footwork, deceptive body feints, and timing in the box that make her so dangerous. At Surf Cup, Suguitan consistently disrupted defenses down the left flank—whether cutting inside to take a shot or burning past her mark to deliver into the six.

Maddie's Highlights

https://www.instagram.com/maddiesuguitan/reel/DR0aY0pknya

[player_tooltip player_id='301760' first='Jordyn' last='Fisher-Young'] - 2029 - [program_tooltip program_id='288729' first='LA' last='[program_tooltip program_id='283623' first='Breakers' last='FC'] ECNL'] - Goalkeeper - WL in CA and WL in Position - High School: Sierra Canyon

She is definitely a goalkeeper to watch in the Class of 2029—and she's just getting started. At 5'11" with a 70” wingspan (and still growing), she already has the physical tools that college programs covet: height, reach, coordination, and presence. But what sets Fisher-Young apart is how she uses that natural frame with calm control, excellent anticipation, and a refined sense of positioning. She showed poise under pressure, confident handling, and a strong willingness to come off her line when needed—hallmarks of a keeper who plays big and smart. Fisher-Young is the total package in goal—athletic, technical, intelligent, and still developing. As she enters her freshman year at Sierra Canyon, she's a high-upside prospect.

Jordyn's Highlights

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRydIHUkXLe/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

[player_tooltip player_id='269740' first='Anne' last='Marie Ashley'] - 2029 - [program_tooltip program_id='283425' first='[program_tooltip program_id='283424' first='Pateadores' last='']' last=''] SC ECNL - Defender - WL in CA and WL in Position High School: Santa Margarita

She recently returned home from Portugal while representing her club team against the prestigious Lisbon Academy. Anne and two of her teammates were selected by Sporting CP coaches to attend the event in November. Aside from the competition, she was able to train with the Sporting CP Academy U17 and U19 teams. Anne is also a Gothia Cup (World Youth Cup) participant in both 2023 and 2024 while playing for BA Soccer Academy. She is also a Cal South ODP Regional Champion in 2025. Anne is known for her grit and is a player who can also create scoring opportunities in transitions. She is a leader on the back line and also serves as a team captain for her club team. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her get onto the top 100 list during the next update.

Anne's Highlights

https://www.instagram.com/p/DRt3h3BEw6m

[player_tooltip player_id='295366' first='Ane' last='Fahey'] - 2029 - [program_tooltip program_id='283467' first='Santa' last='Rosa United'] - Forward - #54 in CA and #19 in Position - High School: Cardinal Newman

She made the Best XI list for the 2011-2008 girls. Ane made quick passes under pressure and found open pockets. Her passes were precise and calculative. She scanned well in what seemed to be a crowded midfield, but she made at least 4-5 clean passes. Ane was recently ranked as #54 in CA and #19 as a Forward for the class of 2029. She demonstrated all the makings of a top level player as she held her own against some of the best players in the region and state. Looking forward to seeing her compete with the Cardinal Newman High School team or once ECNL resumes in the Spring.

Ane's Highlights

https://twitter.com/BayAreaSocScout/status/1949688228224901152?s=20

I was fortunate to have Sydney share some insights on her most recent competitions and future soccer journey. It's always a bonus when a player takes time out of their busy schedule to support players in preparing for interview questions. It also gives the scouts and coaches a glimpse of who the player is and who they aspire to be.

5-Questions and Sydney's Responses:

1. What are some soccer events/showcases you have participated in during the past few months.

“Since Surf Cup in August, I've had a busy few months! In October, I played in the ECNL San Diego National Event where our [program_tooltip program_id='283389' first='LA' last='Breakers'] team had two clean sheet victories. In November, I played in the Surf College Cup and was part of a back line that didn't allow a single goal the entire showcase. In December, I participated in the SoCal Olympic Development Program training pool, and I was ultimately selected for the traveling team to represent SoCal at the ODP Regional Championships in Mesa, Arizona from January 1-5. It's been a great few months, and I'm excited to start the new year with ODP Regionals, followed by my freshman varsity high school season, then the spring ECNL showcase with my club team!”

2. What was one of the most memorable moment/s of those events?

“One of the most memorable moments was receiving encouragement from a coach who complimented my hard work and reminded me to stay patient and not get discouraged—that soccer is a long game. As a defender, so much of what I do is quiet work. I'm not always getting the goals or the big highlights, but I'm doing the job that helps my team get wins and clean sheets. It's easy to get caught up in results or comparing yourself to others, but that conversation helped me focus on my own development and to trust the process. I carry that mindset with me—just keep putting in the work every day, even when no one's watching.”

3. Are you currently playing high school or club soccer?

“Both! I play club soccer with LA [program_tooltip program_id='283623' first='Breakers' last='FC'] 2011 ECNL, but we're currently dark for the high school season. Right now, I'm on the varsity team at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy. I was really encouraged when one of the high school coaches described me as a “game-changer” even though I'm a freshman. The best part about playing high school soccer is being able to represent my school and build strong bonds with my upperclassmen. League play starts January 7, so I'm excited to compete for a strong season with my teammates before heading back to [program_tooltip program_id='283389' first='LA' last='Breakers'] to finish out the ECNL season.”

4. What is one or two goals you have for the high school or club season?

“My goals are really to keep improving my game and developing as a soccer player, while trusting the process and enjoying the journey with both my high school and club teams. I know I'm still growing as a player, and I want to stay focused on getting better every day—whether that's in training or in games. At the same time, I don't want to lose sight of how much fun this is and how grateful I am to play with such great teammates. If I keep working hard and stay positive, I believe everything else will fall into place.”

5. Is there a club player, collegiate, or professional soccer player who inspires you?

“Naomi Girma! She's from California like me—and came through the youth national team system just like I'm hoping to do. She captained Stanford to an NCAA national championship, and now she plays for Chelsea in England, which is so exciting! What inspires me most is that she's a defender who has broken barriers—she was the first defender ever to win U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, she played every minute of the Olympics when the USWNT won gold, and her coach Emma Hayes called her “the best defender I've ever seen.” She shows that you don't have to score goals to be a game-changer. I love that she talks about wanting to inspire young players to be defenders—to be the ones who stop goals, not just score them. That really resonates with me.”
