What were one or two of the most memorable moments during the event?

5. Are you currently playing high school or club soccer?

6. What is one or two goals you have for the high school or club season?

7. Is there a club player, collegiate, or professional soccer player who inspires you?

8. Where do you see yourself or want to be in 5 years?

Bella's Responses

1. “International Experience
I traveled to Porto, Portugal from November 22–27 with International Prospect Academy (IPA).”

2. “Level of Competition
We played against international teams including FC Porto and Valadares Gaia Feminino. Both clubs are structured as professional pathways for elite female youth players, which made the level of competition extremely challenging and valuable for my development.”

3. “Recruitment After reviewing my film, Thomas Dollner evaluated me and IPA offered me a position as an ambassador. Through IPA, we not only compete internationally but are also evaluated by coaches at both the international and U.S. collegiate levels. Having now played internationally twice, I've gained a much broader perspective on how soccer differs across countries—from coaching philosophies to pace of play and overall focus—while also seeing the similarities that connect the game worldwide.”

4. “Most memorable moments: Cultural & Soccer Takeaways
International travel is always one of the most memorable aspects of a soccer trip—meeting new people, experiencing different cultures and food, and visiting historic landmarks. What stood out most to me in Porto was how deeply loved fútbol is. FC Porto's museum highlights decades of athletic success, and it was clear that soccer holds a special place above all other sports in the city.
My biggest takeaway from playing abroad, across both international experiences, has been learning how to quickly adapt on teams where I don't know my teammates or their playing styles. Being able to communicate, connect, and compete effectively in that environment has helped me grow as a player. I also learned a lot by observing how coaching styles and expectations vary between countries.”

5. “I currently play high school soccer for Louisville High School and club soccer for [program_tooltip program_id='283395' first='Legends' last='FC'] in Norco, CA.”

6. “Goals in HS/Club - Areas for Growth
One area I am focused on improving is my left-footed play, as expanding my ability on both feet will allow me to be more versatile and impactful in games.”

7. “Player Inspiration – Sophia Wilson (Smith)
One player who has truly inspired me is Sophia Wilson (formerly Smith). Throughout her journey, she has faced real obstacles that tested her resilience, including a significant injury early in her collegiate career at Stanford that sidelined her and forced her to work patiently through recovery. Instead of letting that setback define her, she used it as motivation to rebuild her game, regain confidence, and return at a high level, eventually becoming a key contributor to a national championship team.

Her story shows that setbacks are not the end, but opportunities to grow stronger. Even now in her professional career, she continues to inspire female athletes by challenging the stigma around major life milestones, including motherhood, and proving that with dedication, support, and work ethic, it is possible to return to the field and compete at the highest level. Her journey reminds me that perseverance, belief in yourself, and consistent effort can carry you through adversity and help you reach your goals.”

8. “Five-Year Vision
In five years, I see myself finishing my collegiate soccer career and continuing my journey into the next chapter—whether that includes playing professionally—while also earning my degree and building a strong foundation for my future.”

https://twitter.com/BayAreaSocScout/status/2008763694218702907?s=20

Everleigh's Responses

1. “I was on the U19 USYF squad and we played international friendlies against some local futsal clubs in Manchester/London.”

2. “We played against some local clubs/academies who have players on national teams and premier league academies.”

3. “I tried out through the state/national id process. There is a regional state id where you can then get invited to the USYF national id camp in Michigan.”

4. “Definitely the locker rooms. We had a lot of fun and team bonding while we got ready for our matches. We would also go on coffee runs in the cloudy Manchester weather. On NYE my team went out to a square that had lots of rides. On the walk back to our hotel we sang American music and it was so fun.”

5. “I'm currently playing club soccer for de anza force.”

6. “We are in the offseason currently, so I'm focused on developing. I'm focusing on improving my technical, physical, and mental skills outside of regular season matches.”

7. “I'm really inspired by Midge Purce because I really love her style of play. She also went to Harvard, which is super inspiring. I love how technical she is and I find her constant determination really impressive.”

8. “I really want to play college soccer at an academically and athletically challenging school. Also, I would also love to represent my country in the next women's futsal world Cup in 5 years!”

https://twitter.com/BayAreaSocScout/status/2008760138749145404?s=20

Izzy's Questions and Responses

1. "What are some soccer events or showcases you have participated in during the past few months? “This fall has been extremely busy and rewarding for me. In October, I was selected to represent Panama at the Central American Olympics in Guatemala. Because the Women's Senior National Team had prior commitments in Peru, the Panama Federation sent the U23 team to compete. This was my first call-up to the U23 team, and I earned caps in both matches, playing approximately 45 total minutes. Although we did not advance out of the group stage, it was a valuable experience to compete at this level and represent Panama. Two weeks later, I traveled to Phoenix with my ECNL team, [program_tooltip program_id='283312' first='Davis' last='Legacy'], to compete in the ECNL College Showcase. Unfortunately, after my second game, I had to visit the emergency room and was diagnosed with pneumonia. I was disappointed to miss the final match, especially with many college coaches in attendance.

Just a few days after returning home from AZ, I traveled with the Panama U17 National Team to Nicaragua for the UNCAF FIFA First U16 Tournament. This was my second experience playing under our new head coach, Gerard Aubi, who also coaches the U20s. With many players from previous cycles having aged out, the team was almost entirely new, and for our first tournament together, I felt we performed well and continued to build chemistry. Despite still recovering from pneumonia, I started and completed all four matches. Although I usually play outside back, the coaching staff moved me to center back to help manage my recovery while still contributing defensively.

Four days after returning from Nicaragua, I traveled with my [program_tooltip program_id='283312' first='Davis' last='Legacy'] ECNL team to Kansas City, where we competed in very cold conditions and performed well as a group. One of the biggest lessons I took away from this fall was learning how to manage frequent travel to different climates while competing at a high level, overcoming adversity, and maintaining a strong academic focus and GPA. I'm very grateful for the support of my teachers and school, as their flexibility and encouragement make it possible for me to pursue these opportunities without being homeschooled.

I am currently preparing to travel to Bermuda on January 17th for the U17 World Cup Qualifiers and can't wait!”

2. When did you first play for Panama on their youth national team?

"A few days after my 14th birthday, my mom received a call from Nacho Quintana, who at the time was the head coach of the Panama Women's National Team. He invited me to try out for the U17 team, and in January of 2024 I was called up to play in two friendlies in Costa Rica under Coach Victor Suarez. After that, I was called up to represent Panama in the CONCACAF U17 World Cup Qualifiers in Toluca, Mexico. This year will be my third year playing at the U17 level. During my first two years, we made it out of the first round of qualifiers and into the round of 14. This year we are hoping to make it out of the group stage so we can play in the U17 World Cup."

3. What teams have you played for with Team Panama?

"I have capped a total of 21 times for Panama at the U17, U20, and U23 levels."

4. What were the most memorable moments of these events?

"Panama is a Catholic country, and faith is important to our team. The night before our first Pre–World Cup Qualifier in Toluca, Mexico, the team captains called a meeting. It was our first match together as a new group, and everyone understood how important the moment was. We stood arm in arm while music played softly in the background, and in that quiet moment, I could feel how deeply everyone cared about representing our country and as we prayed we felt the presence of God. Despite our different backgrounds and personal challenges, we felt completely united and focused on one shared goal. By the end of the meeting, there was a strong sense of emotion and belief in each other. This is what we bring to every game."

5. Are you currently playing high school or club soccer?

"At the club level , I play for [program_tooltip program_id='283312' first='Davis' last='Legacy'] ECNL, where we recently completed a strong first half of the season in the NorCal Conference. This was my first season with Davis, and I've really enjoyed being part of such a talented and competitive team. I commute about three hours round trip each day from Petaluma for training, but it has been worth it because of how much I'm learning. Coach Jesus holds me and the team to a high standard and consistently challenges us in ways that are preparing us for the next level.

During High School, I play for Cardinal Newman, and we are nearing the end of our preseason. I play as a holding midfielder (#6) and enjoy the opportunity to learn different positions. Last year we won the CIF NorCal Division 2 Championship and are looking to improve and win it all this year!"

6. What are one or two goals you have for the high school or club season?

"I enter my recruitment window on June 15th and my main goal is to get recruited to a D1 program as early as possible. I am considered a “trapped” player, which means many of my teammates are already committed to colleges, and by June 15th, most if not all will be committed to play college soccer. The advantage of being trapped is that I receive early exposure to college coaches, while the downside is that I have fewer opportunities to compete and be measured directly against players in my graduation year. I have been part of the U17 PDP program for the last two years. Last spring, I was selected for the U17 State game but was unable to play due to a broken wrist. This year, my goals are to be selected for the State Game and hopefully to travel with the U17 PDP team abroad, which has always been a dream of mine."

7.
