ECNL Texas Preview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>ECNL Texas will take place this weekend at two of the best sports complexes in the country. Toyota Sports Park and MoneyGram will host over 100 ECNL teams from various age groups (2008-2012) around the country. The weather forecast for looks like some excellent conditions for some footy although maybe not so good for spectators as rain is expected in the forecast. However, that may change throughout the week. I am looking forward to attending and I will be mostly at the Toyota Park location if you see me come say hi. I was really surprised not to see her in the most recent USYNT squads. She has everything that is needed to perform at the highest level and then some. So skilled for such a tall, long physical profile. She can beat you in all kinds of ways. Offensively she is an excellent distributor, has amazing close control, and she's a threat to score from anything under 40-45 yards away from goal. Defensively she fights and scraps, wins ground/aerial duels at a very high percentage and is incredibly fast in transition. She reads play very well and advances the ball extremely well whether that be on the pass or the dribble. Her defensive footwork is really sharp and she transitions up and down the field in a flash. She is very calm on the ball and never seems to get rattled when pressured. One of the best highlight reels I have seen from such a young player. Honestly couldn't tell you if she's left or right footed. She can score from distance and has equally good technical ability with either foot. Rountree possesses an incredible first step as well as elite top end speed. The Eastside playmaker is so shifty and polished on the dribble and flashes a plethora of different moves that bring her a lot of success. Very steady hands, confident distribution, and extremely brave. Her Solar side will take on another national power in San Diego Surf in game 1 on Saturday there will be a ton of eyes on this game. She can play as a wing back or a central midfielder and she is exceptional at both. Has an immense burst of speed to get around defenders when she's on the ball or catch up to attackers when defending. She is an excellent crosser of the ball and thrives when driving at the oppositions goal on the dribble. Plays with a ton of grit and determination flying into challenges while also putting her body on the line for her team. Her ability to predict what's going to happen before it does is exceptional. She seems to be steps ahead reading opposition attackers as she will arrive in a spot that the ball hasn't even been played into yet. She is an excellent athlete getting on the end of through balls before even the fastest of strikers. She shows excellent awareness and game IQ when dribbling into space as a center back making things happen that few defensive minded players can emulate. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
