Barrett is the goalkeeper of the Solar SC U16 team that will play La Roca FC, FC Pride Eilte and Eclipse Select SC in Florida. The number one goalkeeper in our Class of 2028 State Rankings, she’s a US Youth National Team regular and has the complete package to stand out in the position. Standing at 5’10”, she has excellent length and uses it very well between the posts, paired with superior reflexes and a solid technical game that has no holes. Incredibly consistent and productive under pressure, Barrett also plays well with her feet, contributing to the team’s buildup.

Solar’s starting goalkeeper Barrett is one of the reasons for the team’s impressive solidity, as she’s always ready to step up and make stops when opponents make it past the backline. The goalkeeper was excellent in the Playoffs, leading the team to concede only once in four matches against high-level opponents. Barrett uses her length extremely well between the posts and is very reliable and secure with her actions in the goal. The goalkeeper also does excellent work in distributing, both using her feet and finding teammates with accurate throws.

Solar gave up only one goal in the four games in San Diego. The defense deserves a lot of the credit, but

had some stellar moments to keep those shutouts.
There was a chance in the first half against PDA (which was later ruled offside) when Barrett showed all her brilliance. PDA was on the counter and a golden chance fell at the top of the box. Barrett was 1v1 with the attacker, who one-touched the finish. Barrett sprawled and made an athletic block with her foot to block the shot.
That is the the part of the position that Barrett is so good about. She is not called up for 90% or more of the game, but when she is tasked with stopping the chance, there is no doubt about her focus.

Playing up due to injuries, Barrett did an excellent job for the Solar side. She showed secure hands, confidence off her line, and excellent distribution. It was a difficult weekend for Solar with the shorthanded squad and the tough competition, but Barrett made the most of the chances and ended the event with a pair of wins.

Goalkeeper. Part of the US U14 Girls National Team. Big time prospect. Excellent hands. Good shot-stopper. Good footwork, distribution is excellent. Hits a drop kick that sails over the midfield. The decision-making with distribution could improve. She rushed some things during the ECNL playoffs and didn’t always get the ball to her team – both from her hands and feet. I believe the potential is there for a top level goalkeeper. She’s obsessed with the process of improving and she’s shown continuous growth and development in her role. Barrett is going to be a top player on the national level thanks to impact she has on one of the best teams in the country. She’s a well-rounded prospect at goalkeeper.
