ECNL Texas – 2010 Division Outside Backs Who Left their Marks

The ECNL Girls League had its second national event of the year earlier in February, when over 200 teams in the U14-U19 age groups from all over the country flew to Dallas for three days of matches. On Saturday, we were at the Toyota Soccer Center, in Frisco, following matches of the 2010 age group. We're now featuring the players who did a good job in their matches, and the outside backs are up next:    Stanley captained the Kansas City Athletics team that returned home undefeated with a win and a tie. She was one of their top players in a 2-1 win over [program_tooltip program_id='283282' first='Challenge' last='SC']. Playing as a left back, Stanley had no trouble dominating her zone with her superior positioning and was very good with her defensive actions, timing them well and being very firm with how she went for the ball. The outside back also contributed offensively, consistently getting into the attacking half to connect with her teammates and generating changes off long free kicks with her ability to provide accurate service.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2026/02/2J4A0085_37282f.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-350543" /></figure>    Robertson was with the [program_tooltip program_id='283282' first='Challenge' last='SC'] team that had a win and a loss over the weekend in North Texas. She lined up as a right back in their 2-1 loss to Kansas City Athletics and had a solid shift in the backline for them. Robertson did well defensively, reading plays efficiently to intercept passes and keeping opponents under pressure when defending 1v1 out wide. The outside back also had a good presence in the attacking half, covering ground to join the offense in no time and distributing good passes in the final third.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2026/02/2J4A0098_0e5383.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-350547" /></figure>    Ajel and her [program_tooltip program_id='283296' first='Classics' last='Elite'] team had a tie and a loss in the event held in Texas. She was very productive while right back in their 1-1 tie with FC Stars White. Extremely offensive-minded, Ajel pushed forward every time she could and showed quality to make plays in the final third, getting to the end line on a couple of occasions. She was very determined on the defensive side of the game, fighting for the ball and coming back after being dribbled to stop opponents. Ajel also did well when her team pressed high, forcing opponents into errors or passing the ball back.     Perucca played for the SLSG Navy team that tied both their matches in Texas. She was one of the team's best players in their 1-1 tie with [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'], appearing well on both sides of the ball. A left back, Perucca was very active defensively and dominated her zone by showing firmness to win duels and quickness to read plays and intercept passes. She was very effective on the ball as well, raising the level of the team's buildup with excellent passes out of the back and consistently making the right choices when she stepped into the attacking half.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2026/02/2J4A0172_71418b.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-350566" /></figure>    Gibson featured for the [program_tooltip program_id='283243' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'] team that had split results in Dallas, returning home with a win and a loss. She had a solid performance in their 2-0 loss to FC Stars Blue, appearing as a left back. Albion conceded two early goals and found in Gibson an interesting attacking weapon as she consistently stepped into the attacking half, feeding the forward with accurate, direct passes and making some runs on the ball down the line. Gibson also produced well defensively, using her physical tools and excellent timing to stop transition plays.
