One of the most anticipated moments of the MLS Next season has arrived, as starting this weekend, academies from all over the U.S. and Canada and international opponents will compete in the highly prestigious Generation Adidas Cup.

The tournament will have 40 teams competing in each of the U15 and U16 divisions at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, from March 27 to April 4 in what should be one of the highlights of the season. Teams were split into ten groups of four, and the best 16 (the ten pool winners and the six best second-placed teams) will advance to the playoffs.

The three MLS teams from the state of Texas will be represented in the tournament, and we'll preview each of them ahead of the opening day.

A left back, Pea is one of the pillars of the team with his solid two-way game. Combining nice physical tools and excellent instincts, he's very reliable defensively, playing hard and having a high success rate in his actions. The outside back also offers a lot going forward, supporting the offense in different ways. Pea sees the game well and is very quick with his moves, often bringing the ball inside to explore gaps in the opponent's defensive system. He crosses the ball with good accuracy and also finishes well from outside the box.

Vargas is one of the many talented midfield players on this Dallas team. A lefty, he typically plays in more of an attacking role and makes a big impact in the team's offense with his vision and quality on the ball. Vargas is very smooth when in possession and thrives in creating space in crowded areas with quick moves to beat opponents. He's also a very good passer, who moves the ball forward every time he has it, feeding the forward with well-timed and well-weighted passes.

Olowu is one of the main offensive weapons in this team. A tall and athletic forward, he typically plays as an inverted winger on the right and can be very difficult to stop. A lefty, Olowu is at his best when he has space to make runs on the ball in front of him, using his long legs to cover ground and go at defenders. He is, however, very creative and resourceful in tight spaces, too, beating opponents with quick moves when working with his back to the goal around the midfield line and when isolated 1v1 out wide.
