Generation Adidas Girl's Division Royal/Grey Players to Watch

The Rosters for the 2nd Generation Adidas Cup Girl's Division have just dropped and there is going to be some incredible talent on hand at IMG Academy. In an expanded tournament this year with 8 teams as opposed to 4 from last year it definitely suggests this event was a big success. With huge names like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Club America taking part I am looking forward to watching what kind of talent they bring. Here are some players to watch from the Royal and Grey squads from the Girl's Academy All-Star teams.    The Columbus United superstar and USYNT standout will be playing for the Grey squad in Bradenton. She is an all-action central midfielder who dictates the tempo of the game extremely well. She is excellent on the half turn and driving into space. She's a little pit bull on defense making her opponents feel her presence during every action. Looking forward to watching this young player compete.     The Lou Fusz midfielder is fresh off of a GA Champions Cup triumph as well as a GA Champions Cup Best XI selection a couple of weeks ago and she is back in Bradenton playing for the Girl's Academy Grey squad. She has been in a handful of USYNT Talent ID Centers and continues to impress evaluators anywhere she steps on the field. The central midfielder is a hassle to deal with defensively and is always a threat to score goals.     The HTX attacking player has a vast arsenal of offensive characteristics that make her a very exciting young talent. Her off ball movement is very tricky for defenders to read. She can run towards goal or away from it. She is excellent on the dribble and prefers to go straight at the goal as opposed to getting to the byline for a cross. She has an excellent first touch and high motor. She will be playing with a very loaded Grey squad.     One of if not the biggest name at this tournament Ortiz needs no introduction. She is a consistent fixture in the USYNT squad and for good reason. It's hard to point out a weakness in Ortiz's game. She has elite athleticism, exceptional technical skills and amazing soccer IQ. Get ready for a show from her at this event.     The Tophat talent will be playing with the Royal team at this event. She is the #3 ranked player in Georgia and should be anchoring the back line for this squad. Her defensive footwork is outstanding and her distribution is fantastic. She has excellent speed when the ball goes over the top and she is very comfortable pushing into midfield on the dribble.     The Lou Fusz forward has innate composure in front of goal. She has the ability to finish in a plethora of ways. Very good on the breakaway or with one time finishes. She has an excellent burst of speed which helps her get on the end of through balls as well as dribble past opposition defenders/goalkeepers. She will be leading the line for the Royal squad.     The Tophat Goalkeeper has all the tools to have a very successful career. Tall, athletic, long and great leadership qualities. I haven't seen a Tophat goalie who isn't really good with their feet and I expect nothing different from Walstad. She was the starting keeper for last years Girl's Academy National Championship side. She will be in-between the pipes for the Royal squad.
