Pennsylvania 2028 Update: 5 Must-Know Prospects Gaining Momentum

Below is the scouting report on five players every scout should know prior to June.    Watson is one of the highest risers in the Pennsylvania rankings and a player who should be on the national radar. She previously played for [program_tooltip program_id='283649' first='FC' last='DELCO'] 2010 ECNL and was the captain of that team. She's stepped into the midfield for Penn Fusion this season and looks the part as one of the best in the nation in the defensive midfield role.   Her highlights often show her making key passes, splitting the defense, and progressing the ball up the field. Watson shines the most in the game film. She's great at processing the defense and finding the best option for her team. She's a quick thinker and reads the game well.   There's all the signs here of a top level midfielder in a position that does not have much depth in this region for the 2028 class. Watson should have her pick of schools.     Arnold is a member of the ODP National Team and the [program_tooltip program_id='278622' first='Beadling' last='GA'] team. She is a forward who can operate in a number of spots. She could also play as an attacking midfielder. Arnold lists center back as a position as well on her player profile.   She is an impressive athlete with incredible endurance. There is no pace drop-off on her full-field runs. She races way from defenders with the ball at her feet. She's an excellent finisher with her right foot and only needs a small window to get off a shot.   Arnold has shown the quality to shine against elite competition. Her physical profile and production in front of goal should get attention of scouts from top programs.     Fry is another rapid riser in the rankings. She was the best player from the Girls Academy Champions Cup for her side. The center back has everything in her toolkit to be an immediate contributor at the next level.   She's on the dramatic rise during the 2025/2026 club season and should be the player scouts immediately highlight when looking for top difference-makers from the center back position. She's athletic, competitive, and smart. She's going to improve any program that she joins in the 2028 class.     New is a defender who could play as a center back or an outside back. She primarily plays left center back for her club team. She is right footed. She's a physical defender who thrives in the challenges. She will throw her body into the duel with excellent technique and strength. She reads the game well and gets into the right spots to cut out passes.   New is good on the ball and can break the pressure off the dribble. She plays with her head up and makes good decisions with her passes. She's shown the quality to suggest she will be a key player in the game for a long time.     Patten is one of the players who stood out from the Riverhounds game film consistently from game to game. She can play as a box-to-box midfielder or a defensive midfielder. She's a good finisher for either role. She has excellent technique in striking the ball from the run of play.   She's got an excellent first touch and can play out of pressure with her composure. Patten has impressed at the high school level as well.   Patten's recent run of play has been more than enough to solidify her spot as one of the best midfielders in the state.
