Duke Committed Players: Part 2

<p>This article is the second part of the <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2026/05/duke-committed-players-part-1/" id="https://prepsoccer.com/2026/05/duke-committed-players-part-1/">Duke committed players series</a>. These are the players that Prep Soccer has listed as committed to attend Duke University, and they are all in the class of 2027. In this article, the remaining four players are split between 3 girls and 1 boy. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Girls</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Francesca is a forward with tremendous potential, especially if she's deployed centrally. She's a complete striker, combining both link-up and goals. In either case, she shows how effective and reliable she is. She shines most when there is space to exploit. This could be either her moving into space or playing passes into space where her teammates run. When she's on the receiving end of the pass, she drives the ball forward aggressively, giving the opposing defense no chance to stop her. She's a strong dribbler, shouldering markers off while maintaining her momentum. When she's participating in build-up, she has no issue playing in the final pass if a teammate is in a better position than her. This isn't just a one-off, either. She'll constantly look out to see what the best option is to finalize an attack.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Chloe is a phenomenal defensive talent who can play just as great at center back as she can as a defensive midfielder. She is a player who dominates thanks to her awareness. Her defensive talents aren't reliant on physicality, though that doesn't mean she isn't capable of showing up in physical duels. She has been covered extensively and will continue to be, given her potential. The jump to collegiate soccer is where I believe she will fully burst onto the scene. This mental fortitude and overall game awareness is something that will put her well above her peers and opposition. The step up into a demanding institution will see her blossom if she continues down this path of progression.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Gabrielle is one of those players who make any game she's in worth watching. Players with her ability are what make the sport so enthralling. The agile, skillful, creative midfielder is one that you have to watch to get the full story. She can pull magic where no one else sees anything. The step up to Duke, hopefully, will see us watch the birth of a midfielder who can define a generation. Her potential is stratospheric, and I don't doubt that she'll make an impact immediately as soon as she lands in Durham. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Boys</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">When you watch Latumbikika play, you immediately notice that you're watching a player who loves the sport. One of the most exciting players I've watched, he absolutely dazzles in midfield. His technical ability is superb. Tight spaces open up so easily once he's on the ball. He gets out of pressure phenomenally, leaving his markers behind him with simple moves. He's agile and quick, which makes him all the more effective. His dribbles are as effective and skillful as a winger's, but he pulls them off in the most crowded area of the pitch. Passing is another strong suit of his. He plays them with the exact precision and weight. They may seem overhit at first, until the ball slows down right in the path of his teammate. He demonstrates his intelligence in any facet, including defense. His tackles are strong but never rash.</p>
