Girls’ 7A Best Performers This Season

It was a second half winner that sealed the deal for them after the first half ended 1-1. The regional finalists were Heritage High School and R.J. The direct, attack-minded player finishes the season with a staggering 49 goals and 15 assists in just 22 matches. In my list of best talents of her class, I described how effective she is in the final third with her academy. When talking about her high school performances, it's even better. The skillful left-footed winger led her team in both goals and assists as they finished as the state runner-ups. She's a player who has been covered extensively, and with good reason. For her club, she mostly plays as a center-back, and for her school, she plays as a defensive midfielder. Defensively, she imposes herself through both her mentality and physicality. She knows what the play asks of her when she needs to intervene. Her tackles are strong and clean, rarely needing to go to ground to win it back. She also shields the ball really well, bullying attackers off of it quite easily. In attack, she demonstrates how intelligent she is. Even though she plays from deep, she finished the season as her school's top assister. This is because of her wonderful vision and incisive passes. She plays them with purpose, even if they're risky. She has the pace and skill to play out wide on either side. When she's up against a marker out wide, she shows how much of a headache she can be for them with her movements. Centrally, as a 9, her movements are still just as good. This is especially noticeable with her movements off the ball. Her movements into space create a clear passing lane for her teammates to pick her out in. When pressing, she is relentless. She'll press as hard as she can until she, or a teammate, regains possession. When she gets the ball through on goal in either scenario, she has the composure to slot the ball home calmly. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
