Norcal PrepSoccer Talent ID Camp Midfield Maestros

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was some excellent box to box play at our PrepSoccer Talent ID Camp. These players did it on both ends and showcased their talent at a really high level. Being a midfielder is the most physically taxing position in soccer. Finding good ones is hard to do. She made a couple of fantastic tackles to win the ball back for her side and started the counter attack after she did. The second the balls came out and competition was established she showed what she is made of. She imposed her will in the possession drills as well as the 11 v 11 game. I'd argue she had the best performance of any midfielder at this event. She had two lovely assists and made good reads defensively. Her energy is her most impressive attribute. Never stopped running and never stopped competing for the entire 4 hours. Always seems like she has a plan and tactically astute for such a young player. Trusts her first touch and doesn't seem to be fazed by or feel pressure. I don't say this about many players but I think the term technical savant could be used when describing her. She has two excellent feet and can perform any skill you ask her to do with either of them. Extremely comfortable on both sides of the ball scoring a goal and winning a ton of defensive duels. She won a lot of headers and her positional play was outstanding. She must have had 6 or 7 recoveries from her defensive midfield role. Her ability to drop deep in between the center back and facilitate play was difficult for the other teams to deal with.
