Addison Halper, or Addy as she's called, is such an awesome player as well as role model. She took time off of her busy schedule to give us some critical insight on the recruitment process, tips on how to succeed at the next level, and how to mentally prepare for the challenges involving collegiate soccer and beyond.

This is my fourth article with Addy, and I wanted to do something special by having some elite-level and up-and-coming players join us in the celebration. Although I planned to have a few more players on this call, the ECNL playoffs just finished for many of those players who were either traveling or still committed to taking their teams further in the tourney.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Isabella “Izzy” Rendino, [player_tooltip player_id='199882' first='Vivian' last='Baker'], [player_tooltip player_id='269740' first='Anne' last='Marie Ashley'], and Addison “Addie” Ingwersen for joining us in this special event feature. Your presence, questions, and commitment to becoming a top-level soccer player were greatly appreciated by Addy as she saw a little bit of her journey while getting to know a little about you as well.

Player Updates:

[player_tooltip player_id='231871' first='Addison' last='Ingwersen'] - Over the past few months, Addison has continued to establish herself as one of the top emerging forwards in the Class of 2029. The goal-scoring striker enters the fall with significant momentum after a productive spring and summer highlighted by consistent scoring, success against older competition, and continued recognition at the regional level.

She will join SUSA Academy this season after finishing as the leading goal scorer for her previous team. Her attacking instincts, intelligent movement, and composure in front of goal have made her one of the most dangerous forwards in her age group. She consistently finds pockets of space, makes well-timed runs behind defensive lines, and has shown the ability to finish with both confidence and efficiency.

One of the defining storylines of her recent development has been her success while competing against older players. She helped BVB Academy capture its bracket at the Girls Academy National Showcase in North Carolina while playing two age groups up, then followed that performance by helping another team win their showcase bracket at the Mad Dog Mania Showcase, again competing two years above her age group.

Her performances also earned her selection to the ODP Regional Selection ID event in New Jersey, further validating the progress she has made and the regard in which she is held by ODP staff.

Beyond her goal production, Addie continues to impress with her soccer IQ and overall understanding of the game. She reads defensive shape exceptionally well, knows when to stretch the field or check into space, and consistently creates quality attacking opportunities for herself and her teammates. Her work rate off the ball, willingness to defend from the front, and ability to influence the game in multiple phases make her a complete forward rather than simply a finisher.

Off the field, Ingwersen has invested heavily in her development throughout the summer, participating in strength and conditioning, advanced technical training, position-specific striker sessions, finishing schools, and multiple college ID camps. Her commitment to improving every aspect of her game continues to be reflected in her confidence, physical development, and overall performances.

With her move to SUSA Academy and continued success against high-level competition, Ingwersen is positioned to continue building momentum as one of the more exciting young attacking players in the 2029 recruiting class.

A natural striker with an instinct for finding the back of the net, finishing inside the box or creating her own shot off the dribble, Addie has the tools that every coach looks for in a goal-scorer. What sets Addison apart is her combination of technical skill and composure under pressure. Beyond her goal production, Addie continues to impress with her soccer IQ and overall understanding of the game.
