Ohio's Loaded 2029 Class: Emerging Talent to Know

The Ohio 2029 class is shaping up to be one of the best in recent history for the state. The top level talent is already firmly in the national team picture with regular call-ups. There is elite national talent in every position group. The ECNL postseason was a clear example of this class having remarkable depth too. The clubs has terrific showings in Washington.   Below is a scouting report on some of the emerging talent from Ohio in the 2029 class.    Shaw is a towering defensive midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] 2011 squad. The boss of the center of the pitch for [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] has been a previous call-up to US Soccer Talent ID events.   She impressed during the postseason for her club team as a stable presence on the pitch. She was active in supporting her teammates in possession. She did well in getting into passing lanes to shut down the opposition.   Some of her standout moments came from her right foot with a booming kick and excellent vision. Shaw has the capability to dominate the youth game with her athleticism, soccer smarts, and competitiveness. She will be a key player for [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] during the upcoming season.     Knisely is a center back on the [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] 2011 ECNL squad. She was recently part of a US Soccer Talent ID event.   Knisely plays right center back for her club team. She is an excellent on-ball defender. She uses her body well in the tackle. She shows excellent technique in that regard - and easy to see why US Soccer scouts would rate her highly as a center back.   She is confident on the ball and an aggressive playmaker for the position. Knisely will try to fit a pass through a small window. She is always trying to split lines and open up the opposition with her quality on the ball. She is a bit cavalier in that regard, but the playmaking ideas are an asset for the position and can be a benefit for any squad that relies on the center back to bypass the midfield for creating chances.   Knisely has big-time potential. She's an excellent defender and showed that quality this summer. She should be a top target in that position from the Ohio 2029 class.     Listerman is a new addition to [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] after previously playing for [program_tooltip program_id='283294' first='Cincinnati' last='United Premier']. The versatile attacking talent is a dynamic player who can star in a variety of roles. She was an immediate impact player for [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] in Seattle. Whenever she was on the field, the pace of the game picked up. She has a burst of a first step and close control of the ball. She can beat players with a variety of moves.   She's also an asset in the press. With her quickness and defensive instincts, she forces the opposition into uncomfortable situations.   She can play on the wing or in the center of the forward line. The two-way quality also suggests a possibility as a wingback in the right system. Listerman's game-breaking qualities make her one of those new additions that will impress scouts during the upcoming season. She's already been on the radar for US Soccer Scouts with call-ups to Talent ID events.     Borg was one of the standouts of the Ohio Elite squad during the ECNL playoffs. She is listed as a winger/forward on her profile. I would say that she plays in a more traditional midfield role.   Borg is a two-way player with an impressive engine. There is a lot asked of her and she meets the demands with enthusiasm. There were moments in the win against [program_tooltip program_id='283419' first='Ohio' last='Premier'] that felt like she was non-stop running for long stretches. Tracking back to cover runners while just as quickly jumping into the attack to create overloads for her team. Her engine is an asset and makes her an ideal candidate on the wing for a two-way playmaker.   She scored the game-winner in that contest on a long effort. She previously played for Impact GFC. She's been a part of the US Soccer Talent ID events numerous times in the past.   Bush is a skillful player who has excellent vision. She is good with either foot and a clever player in the center of the field with her technical ability on the ball. Bush thrives with the ball at her feet. She can pull the strings and open up the defense. She's shown the quality to suggest that she will shine when the pace of the game increases at the next level.   While Bush's best quality is in possession, she's one of the best players in this class in the press. She's quick, knows how to cut off passing lanes, and does well in the timing of the tackle. She is fierce defender who gives nothing away for free. She has the competitive spirit that college coaches love.     Reyes is an outside back on the CUP 2011 GA team. She plays left back for her club team, but she's fully capable of playing any spot across the back line. She played center back for her varsity team last season.   She's a defender with comfort on the ball, high level soccer intelligence, and a drive to take on the challenge of defending the best player on the other team. Reyes was a standout for her club team this summer with consistent play. She was heavily involved in every game and always seemed to making the right choices.   Her ability to defend 1v1 on the wing is a strong part of her game. She's got the physical profile for the college game and the athleticism to handle the top wingers she will face. Reyes is a gem in this class thanks to her soccer smarts, but she certainly has all the other intangibles to make her a top defender in this class.
