Under -16 Standouts Set for September National Team Camp

A new month signals a new camp, and this time the spotlight is on the U16s as they travel to the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Ga. From September 1-8, the U.S. U-16 Girls' National Team will train alongside the U-15s in a joint camp. This marks the third visit for the U-16s to U.S. Soccer's new home base. As camp gets underway, there's plenty of new talent ready to show what they can bring to the national setup. As September gets closer, here are several names on the U16 roster that stand out for their recent performances and potential to make an impact.    Mantilla brings explosiveness and a burst off the mark that can threaten any back line. On the ball, she demonstrates impressive control, both when receiving passes and while moving at full speed. A quality every striker needs. In addition, her physicality in 1v1 situations sets her apart, allowing her to hold off defenders and drive into dangerous areas. Furthermore, Mantilla's ability to time her runs and find space behind the defense adds another layer to her attacking game. She isn't afraid to challenge defenders, often using a mix of strength and agility to create scoring chances. Making her a player in the usynt system to track.     Sousa's ability to drive forward with her right and finish with her left adds a unique dimension to the U16 USYNT. Taylor comes off U15 ECNL Player of the Year honors, bringing momentum and confidence into her next challenge. Add her striking ability to the mix and you have an attacker capable of producing highlight-worthy goals. Playing in both Girls Academy and ECNL, she gets plenty of touches on the ball and it certainly shows. In transition, her speed is tough for defenders to match, and once her head is up, she can make unpredictable decisions. She attacks space aggressively, controlling the pace of play with dynamic footwork. Her recent invite to September's camp is well earned, a testament to her impact and growth as a player.     Coming off a National Championship with So Cal Blues, Earle adds another camp invite to an impressive year. She often takes space with confidence, picking her head up to become a real danger in the attack as she looks for teammates in the final third. In addition, her pass accuracy and precision served as both an asset and an anchor during the postseason run. Although she primarily plays as a forward, Earle is rostered as a defender for camp; a testament to her versatility and all-around game.
